Dungeon Finder For Trials

Will trials ever be added to the dungeon finder?
A lot of people may not like the idea but for people who don't want to stand around spamming "lfg for x trial", this would be a great option.
For people who don't like the idea they don't need to use it.
Those of us who would like to experience the trials but can't commit to static groups or spend hours trying to find a group, this will be a great alternative.
This is just a test........ if this was an actual sig, you would have been mildly amused..........

In about a month, when Update 40 drops, there is an expanded Group Finder that includes Trials (and about a dozen other things).

I'll give it a shot, but I predict that a lot of frustration will ensue. Along with a renaissance of elitists booting the unworthy from pugs as used to happen when Craglorn was actually populated

Can try the manual group finder but I’m strongly against a trial finder for the reason @El_Borracho suggests… it’d be toxic. You also need at least one trial lead which requires leadership skills and understanding of the content along with members that will work together. We know how often people find antisocial people in dungeon finder. Wont cut it for trials.

Right there with you @Soarora. Pugs were rough when they had those vDSA and vKA events. Everyone wants perfected gear, but not everyone wants to take the time to learn mechanics.

You can actually select the type of run, speed was one of them. So I guess avoid that option if you're new to the trial.

With the new group finder you can set playstyle to casual and a min cp.

You can just set a group up to clear normal sunspire for gear or stuff.

I think this group finder will help alot of players and if you are seeking top 1% trial players you should probably include that when creating the group listning.

@XSTRONG in an ideal world, those who queue for a vet trial should know mechanics and have some experience running that vet trial. If that were the case, then this trials finder would be incredible. And this even applies to the easier Craglorn trials. Seen enough of people wiping a vSO run by spreading the poison while trying to blame the healer.

But drawing on my experience from those two vDSA and vKA events, people jump into vet pugs expecting to be carried for clears and gear. They were rude, refused to listen to the poor raid leader trying to explain what they were doing wrong, and the groups invariably collapsed. On the flip side, there were experienced players who did not handle it well, either. It was not fun.

I want the group finder to be a success because growing the group endgame population is a good thing. But that can only work if people understand their limitations and resist the urge to queue for content they are not ready for. The content will always be there, its okay to familiarize yourself with mechanics, improve your rotation, and then do it when you are ready. Jumping in and expecting to be carried by hiding in the stack does not work.

Thanks for all the replies :)

We just got back into the game after a long hiatus and still trying to catch up on everything that has been added and going to be added.

    I 100% agree with you El_Borracho.
From what other's have posted it sounds like there will be an option to set them to casual.

We want to put together a group of people who will study the mechanics beforehand. If we can't put together a full group, the option to use the group finder will be a plus. It will definitely be better than standing around for hours trying to find a group of people to run with.

    Cheers!

Good luck even getting in a group as dead weight, few supports will join a 0 dps req group when there will be bunch 80k+ parse req groups.

I know i will req 100k for my future vse and vdsr pugs, and as a tank main i can’t even parse that :D

There's no way to verify parses for the group finder so everyone who applies for a run will have whatever parse you requested because they'll just lie.

You can req comms in the new group finder tool, if lying becomes too common, just let them post screenshots in discord

And you will get your fake tanks and healers queuing up for trials.
Then what will you do ?

I think anyone who tries to fake tank a vet trial is in for a pretty rude awakening and won't try it more than once LOL.

    This ^

If people don't want to use the group finder for trials then don't. Everyone, who has done the trials, were new to them at one point. You didn't go in being a "pro" at it.

There seems to be a lack trial groups looking for extra players as well.
That said, those of us who want to check it out and experience the content will have a chance to do so.
Good luck even getting in a group as dead weight, few supports will join a 0 dps req group when there will be bunch 80k+ parse req groups.

-Again, as stated by @XSTRONG, it looks like there will be an option to adjust the difficulty.
-DPS and healing isn't and issue on our end. We realize it will be hit or miss in the group finder. We hope to have enough of our in-game friends join our group. We will just need to pick up a few extra in the group finder.
-At least the option will be there.
-We will join the group finder on casual mode. A lot of people, us included, would like to experience the trials. Adding this tool will allow for that.

We used to use the duty/group finder in other MMO's so we could experience the content. It worked great for those of us who didn't have the time to commit to raid schedules.
We looked up the boss fights and read up on the mechanics.
That is all we can do and what most people do before joining any raid/trial in any MMO.

    Agree^

    People need to chill.
Adding this feature won't have any impact on those of you who don't plan on using it.

Ofc. It will be good for a pre-formed group that only needs one or two players to fill the group but a train wreck otherwise. Few that are truly experienced with the raids would use it as they tend to taken the time for find guilds that raid.

It will serve a purpose but people do get what they ask for.

haha lets just hope the new team maker works for dungeons before skipping onto trials, my thought is when we play our dd's and want a specific group the team former would still just take all day to form a team making it still better to just queue for a random straight away and get it over with. and with randoms long waits are just not going to happen, plus cp and other things mean nothing when comes to dungeons meaning also the more precise the group you want the longer the wait again. for me personally its just all about cutting out the fake tanks and healers so wont be to precise but still i dont think this thing is going to work well. never know though

It doesn't replace the dungeon finder. It's an extra tool instead.

yes i know i mean the time it takes to make the specific group before joining the dungeon finder, for the purpose i want to use it rather than just jump into the group finder too, so as no group im in will have a fake tank or healer in it no matter difficulty or the dungeon that is chose from the dungeon finder ande considering its a popular belief groups dont need healers in them anyway only adds to my worry about it
