Distance fog indoors.

What is that fog or light supposed to be in the distance? There is no window that would emit light like that and there is no bright llight source either, The same effect repeatrs in every place inside with similar distance and it looks off to me. Its like its the exact opposite of what it should look inside when you look at the distance.

When you get closer to the end of that corridfor in any similar place, the fog slowly clears out and it starts to look like its supposed to be looking.

Maybe the reasoning to add such effect has been to add some dramatic feeling of distance, but i think it should not be done with lit fog but it should be handled by DoF instead.

EDIT: Now that i posted the image, it seems a bit different here on the forums that it shows up on my game. What i see here in the picture as dark blue on the distance, it shows in my game as light gray fog instead. Im not sure how it shows up in your screen. Weird.

    Fog of war
It's hiding 10,000 slaughterweasels that you can't see until you go too far in.

If you want to get rid of the ridiculous fog in this game, there's a mod out there called Daybreak that gets rid of it. Might look into it myself when I get my new computer up and running. :D

I remember trying some mod like thaT IN THE EARly years. Problem with that was, that it removed all the fog includin fog thjat gives more character to certain weathers and places.

Back th3en i thought this would be remedied over time and the whole fog is just a temporary solution to hide bad LOD aand thgat they will eventually fix it within few years with quality LOD that would finally allow thge removal of fog. Sadly that did never happen so i thjink its finally time to go back to that. Stiull i dont really get it why the fog is that close to player even with max distance as it could be double and still hide the bad parts and edges of Skybox in certaion maps.

As the told that they heavilöy modified the Hero engine to get more out of it, tyhere is at least some thing like drawing distance where SWTOR can be superior compared to ESO on that part. Theres no need of that fog and there the engine is more close to original.

The distant lod of mountains and such in this game are terrible. Something like 8x8 textures stretched out. They would need to bump those up to at least double size before removing the fog or people would complain about them.

With that said they could push the fog back a fair bit right now, like you can do with Daybreak, using a slider in settings for those who would prefer it.

Indeed they could. Daybreak would be nice, but unfortunately i could not get it work at all first, then i got it to work but tyhe Daybreak itself did not work and everything looked terriuble in game :/ I guess something has changed as even though i followed installation procedure to the letter as much as i could, there was this part missing where it downloads shaders.. Dont really know what i could have done wrong but nevermind that.

J find it frustrating in general how hard it is fore games to allow players to exeed some limits just because there is some unpolished stuff hidden. Even more so tro compare what moddding communbity can do to improve quality in just few days trhat takes years from game developers that aree actually paid to do the work.

Daybreak currently requires a very specific older version of Reshade to work. If you go to the Daybreak discord server you can find the info buried there. It has become a fair bit fiddly to install over the last couple years with instructions all over the place.

There’s a alternative for daybreak on ESOUI. Just search “fog” and you’ll find it. You install it like any other addon. Easy.
