Apex mount animations bothering or cool?

For me the mount-on animations for the apex mounts are way too loud, shiny and colourful. It feels odd to have an atom bomb of green or red light explode next to me while someone mount on his little fox. Its too much world of warcraft style for me and a dangerous path considering the world atmosphere. But i like to know what you guys think about it.

Most of them are nice, but some of the more recent ones have way too intrusive and loud animations, so much so that if you are standing next to someone summoning their mount, it can take over your whole screen, not to mention it can be pretty startling. If they could tone down some of the summoning animations, I think it would be a huge improvement.

I was looking at the new ones today and was disappointed that they are yet again in the neon bomb disco style. I, reluctantly, accept there is a market for those, but why not try a bit diversity. I know I'm not the only one who likes a highly detailed yet more grounded/realistic design.

I don't mind some of them where it's small and/or quick. I'm pretty sure there's some which don't have an animation at all.

But some of the recent ones have been excessive. I previewed the new ones in the Alinor inn room (because that's where my character happened to be) and it looked like it was taking up the entire room. It puts me off getting them even if I otherwise like the mount because I'm pretty sure that would get annoying quickly.

i dont like most of the mounts, but for the reasons they are animal themed

would prefer more dwemer themed stuff, and im thinking stuff other than just the dwarven spiders, i mean i would rather take a dwarven minecart as a "mount" instead of an animal

This I agree with. I don't really notice the animations. I do prefer animals myself though.

Some of the animations are to me a bit excessive.....

However it means I will NEVER even consider buying one, so it ends up saving me money!

My choice of mounts are always the ones that when upgrades are hidden, you just have a saddle and reins, sometimes I even keep the saddle bags showing!! 😀

I hate the animations

I'm barely playing ESO right now because the heavy increase in big flashes of light, overly saturated fx effects, and sudden loud noises everywhere makes it painful for me. Headaches, eye pain etc.

I dread when I'm near other players someone is going to jump up on one of the very flashy radiant mounts, like the new quasigriff, in front of me and cause a flair of pain. Or use one of the very bright recall customisations.

It's not for me. I don't mind other people having them. As others have said sometimes I get startled by the very flashy/noisy ones in pvp. It would be cool to see high tier mounts that are fancier/more detailed/more elegant that don't rely on flashing lights and noises.

I don't like a lot of VFX, it's a preference thing mostly. Simple is better in my opinion.... but some of the visuals of radiant apex mounts do actually cause me pain and discomfort. I have light sensitive eyes and am prone to migraines, and lately I find that a lot of movement or flashiness on the screen has been making me unable to focus my vision/kind of lightheaded as well (screen shaking, etc).... so some of the flashy apex mounts do bother me, physically/health wise, when they are around.
These new ones are especially bad. When I previewed that radiant quasigriff.... well, I had regrets. That summon VFX is so obnoxious and, again, hurts.... then the lightning/fire/etc that are on it is also just too much for me to look at. The horse thing is pretty terrible as well, way too bright and I could not stand looking at it for very long. The senche isn't as bad because of the colors/tone, but when my friend was on it I did catch myself trying to not look at it as much as possible.... so I think it was bothering me more than I initially thought it did when I previewed it and she first showed it to me.
Also find it kind of funny that OP said mounts are too "WoW style" because no mounts in WoW have flashy VFX to this extent, haha. The ones that do have VFX attached to their summoning or just in general aren't even near being as over the top as ESO mounts. This is definitely an "ESO style" thing and problem.

There is no choice available for me. I rarely notice these mounts unless someone or a group which is not very often.

I cannot choose the answer saying I am ok with it but not a big fan as I simply see no issue with them.

My assumption at first is a whale showing off what he can purchase, but then i remembered about the endeavours. To me they are ugly but thats just me.

I don't mind some flashiness is someone likes it, but some animations are just too much - they are big, loud and sometimes covers my view. I had situation in Imperial City, when grouped for killing bossess in districts. One of group members had one of this mounts and regulary covers my whole view (didn't see nothing for 2-3 second, because it covers whole street from building to building lol) and in IC it can kill you, when you don't see enemy player coming.

For me it's not matter of personal taste - it interrupts my gameplay, only because ZOS want to sell more crates. And persoanlly it's one of many things last time which wants me to abandon this game...

There's one that has a meteor crash down, now imagine you're both mounted riding off somewhere and you're just far enough behind them to put em at the edge of your render distance, popping in and out over and over as you go, and all you see are meteor after meteor after meteor every time the player renders for you.

Visual assault upon every other player in range screaming 'Look at Me! Look at Me!' Ugh.

I'm really quite unhappy with what seems to be an art design for the game that is moving more and more into neon cartoon land.

The Radiant Apex or Crown Gem Exclusive mounts do often bother me, but not all of them.
some notable ones that hurt my head due to strobing or flashes or bright colours which can cause migraines

Spirit Queen Welwa, Spellscar Quasigriff, Harrowstorm Bear, Ahz-m'Athra, Legion Zero Sabre Cat(along with its companion recall animation),
and i think one or two of the dark chivalry crate radiants but i havent seen them in a while.
those are just ones i remember

Exactly. I purchased some but only through endeavours.

I like the animations if they are not too intrusive - the new Gryphon per sé is really cool, but that nuclear animation is too much... the art is nice, but the fire is so over everything else that the icy part of the animation is unnoticeable. The whole screen shine red XD

What I often can't stand are the sounds, those are worse than the visuals to me. The new gryphon seems ok on this. For example I like the softness of the Glimmertarn Ursauk but I despise the Dro Ma'tra Senche.

This seems to happen to me all the time with the Harrostorm mounts, quite annoying...

I have absolutely no problem, I even like seeing some people with these mounts with extravagant effects, they are rare mounts, it's understandable that they are exuberant and with great effects, I think that like in real life, nothing will please everyone, and there will always be complaints, I think people should be happy, whether they are happy to have exuberant mounts or not, if some people have problems with shiny effects, I'm sorry, but it's a game, there will always be visual effects, and I still think the effects of ESO's are very small compared to other games... so honestly I think it's an exaggeration for some people (who don't have any visual problems) to complain, but that's it, no one is ever satisfied, and that's normal.

The latest one, Harrowstorm Destrier, is easily the worst yet. A blinding flash wasn't enough, it had to feature extreme earrape as well. I wish I could disable the sound effect at least.

I love the Welwa mounts, I'm trying to collect them, bought the Iron Orc one right way, up to four now. I had the endeavor points to buy the Spirit Queen Welwa, but I just couldn't suffer that monstrosity.

I hate all that flashy stuff.
Heck, even that bright torchbug(?) is so bright, it literally hurts my eyes. Did you notice, it even shines through walls? (Like portals, which will shine through rocks...)
ZOS, please stop this - or make it an option to turn those effects off.

Depends on the mount. The ones with soft animations are kinda cool but I dislike the ones that bomb my screen with particle effect ones ^^

I like them but boy have I gotten a few scares in Cyrodiil when someone next to me opens some great big sparkly gate to oblivion to summon his mount

Yes, especially capturing resources in Cyrodil some of these animations make this one roll dodge.
Khajiit say mostly here as people tend to mount as the resource is about to turn.
That is also then you tend to get bombers.
Not much an fan myself, prefer more subtle stuff like

Most mounts in this game are not to my taste, I like mine utilitarian, simple and serene. I use low monitor brightness and low volume anyway so occasional "notice me" sparkles and explosions while uncool are mostly ignorable.

I loathe them especially that green monstrosity that explodes a giant green bubble in your face when someone summons it.

I kind of wonder how long until the summon animations start including a literal orchestra, big red arrows pointing to the mount or a zone-wide notification.
