Maarselok for NB DPS?

Sorry if this has been done to death.

Trying to make a magblade DPS PvP build right now. I have a few ideas for the rest of the build and I know what you wear affects the performance of the monster set and vice versa. My question is, in general, is Maarselok generally speaking decent or at least okay for PvPing? Do you see people wearing Maarselok often? Could anyone list a better monster set for DDing in this situation?

i think the current "meta" for pvp right now is vateshran staff + master dual wield, maarselok is also used in combination with those too, especially on stam sorc, though im sure other classes could use it too

a ranged magblade build might actually be better post U40 with the NB class set

most NB tend to use balorgh for the gank/burst potential

In terms of kill potential Balorgh is also good, Zaan can be good, but Maarselok is strong and reliable. You can also make others work, but these are really straight forward. It scales with the number of debuffs on the target (can make it shine in groupfights or weaken it against enemies with purges) and WD/SD, but it doesn't benefit from crit. Therefor it doesn't play directly into all the strengths of NB, but it is certainly a good option.

Currently using Balorgh right now but ganking is kinda hard for me since this is my first PvP damage build. Also true sworn fury + titanborn for the crit bonus when you’re below 50-75% health. Just followed a build I find online but I think it really only works on 1) people who are already close to dying 2) people that are afk or 3) noobs. I expect to die a lot as an NB but the problem is that if I do kill someone that’s skilled, I often die immediately after them because of whatever debuff the put on me right before.

Rn I’m looking to change to dw + ice staff back bar. Is that ranged enough? In the game I’ve met people that mean a bow when they say ranged as well so just want to make sure.

So for crit you’d recommend Balorgh’s still? This is good info, I think I’m gonna go with Maarselok since I need to rework everything

It's Dr.Procenheimer these days, but yes I am terrified to see what it could do in talented hands

if your trying to go for a bursty magblade right now, ive seen people have some success with draugrkin + winterborn

the staff is definitely good to have because of elemental susceptibility too

the only change ive made to my NB pvp build in the last 4 years was switching from the maelstrom 2h to the master dual wield (though im not entirely happy with that, but it is nice to be using dual wield again for spin to win lol)

im sure most people would say im crazy for running the build i currently do lol

If I really wanted to win I'd use master DW too, and a good proc like way of fire.

way back in the day i used to use the asylum dual wield, before they changed that proc lol, i liked the dot thing it used to do

im considering going back to that though because i dont really like using the master dual wield, miss having caltrops slotted lol

my other gear is sellistrix + plaguebreak + ring of the wild hunt + 2pc agility (stam bonus), and (currently) master dw front bar with blackrose bow back bar

i might try the asylum dual wield again, though i dont like the proc change, but its still better than the proc change on the maelstrom 2h

I had such a strong feeling you’d see this dude and look what happened, I feel so exposed 😭😭😭 I trust your advice 100%, even kept the noob killer thing in mind!! Just wanted to see what other pvp people are doing But you’re right, I will NOT pair it other another proc set or keep buffs up OR use any heals, like the noob I am 💀💀

Ooh this sounds interesting! I think some of the best builds and players do this

Balorgh is good on NBs because its easy to generate ultimate and Incap is so cheap, so even in an extended fight you can get Incap multiple times if your gank/burst fails to kill.

Maarselok is solid on a build that can drop a lot of status effects on a target (In BGs) and definitely with a group, especially in a group with some people wearing EDIT: meant to say Azureblight.
