Thank you (Endless Archives)

It's wonderful that the 40th update of the base game makes the new dungeon Endless Archive available as free content for all players. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for this approach. It's a very nice move to make eso even more attractive to players in this way. This means that newer players who may be “still put off” by the current solo arenas can be introduced to this content with an experienced player at their side. I think this approach was something I was missing when I first started playing Eso. So at the time I was also interested in veteran content like the former Maelstrom Arena and everything I wanted to quest had already been quested ;)

- In addition, Eso Plus owners will still be rewarded with additional resources.
- A wonderful way to give players a gift, thank you very much for that!

So far, from what we have seen, U40 is looking like it could be quite a big W for ZOS.
A much needed W, but still. Things are looking good so far.
Struggling to find a new class to call home. Please send help.

More solo content, and meanwhile less dungeons, worse trials, no new combat mechanics in years.

    No thank you.

A new (endless) dungeon only appeals to people who do dungeons.

For everyone else it’s kind of another empty patch, from a chapter that did not have much to offer after the story was over.

There are too many big releases happening right now. And as someone who has been here from the beginning, I am struggling to find any reason to log in every day.

A year ago ESO was easily my go to game. Now, is it in my top 5? I am not sure…

Delves and public dungeons are different and just more friendly to do. I watched the stream of this and was disappointed in how it works, And I really don't see getting through tier 2 with a companion only or solo. Will have to see how it comes out in the live version.

As attested to in this thread, you cannot please all of the people all of the time. I personally am looking forward to it as I mostly use the game as a solo experience that gets yearly updates.

Update 40 is a win to me, but if you're a hardcore vet content player that has already been there and done that, you will most likely be disappointed.

Not all content will be for everyone, and that is OK IMO.

Looks great. Not sure about an additional type of currency, but apart from that it'll be great

I am quite impressed with the work that's gone into this update. And I'm not that easily impressed.

I know there's probably not something for everyone here. Perhaps if all you do is either quest or the hardest endgame content there isn't. But this game has forever had problems with a gap between casual and endgame players. Making jewelry crafting more accessible, introducing a group finder and new content that deliberately transitions gradually from casual to hard difficulty are all sensible moves to address that. So in theory any way, I'd say thumbs up!
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

I'm really looking forward to it, being able to gold out my jewelry without spending a fortune will be a welcome change. Endless Archives looks amazing, I'm excited to play it - a new type of game mode is always welcome. While another regular dungeon would be nice, we've already got so many of those that it wouldn't honestly stand out. I've always loved playing roguelites, so I'm pretty happy with what I saw so far.

Not true. I rarely do dungeons in this game, but will reinstall ESO when update 40 is released just to play Endless Archives. The randomised encounters, three lives, increasing difficulty, etc looks quite rogue-like to me, which is something that appeals to me in a way dungeons do not.

I played Moria and its spinoffs on an Atari 520ST, so yep I'm old. Looking forward to this updated rendition TBH.

Anything they release won't appeal to someone. This time around it won't appeal to players who don't like doing dungeons or lots of combat. That's okay, as long as their next Q4 feature isn't targeted to the same group. Whatever they do in Q4 next year shouldn't be dungeon/trial content. They have to spread the love around.

I'll try the endless archive, but since dungeons aren't my favourite activity, it probably won't hold my interest for long, but you never know. I would have preferred story content, though.

For now, I'm still logging in daily and doing writs and endeavors. But my gaming time in ESO has significantly decreased over the past six months. It's rare that I spend more than half an hour in game. But I'm still here. For now.

With BG3 having my attention and my intention to then move on to Starfield my play time in ESO is practically non-existent. I log in every few days, do some dailies, grab the fragments from Silent Halls in Blackwood for the costume and then log off again. I've barely touched the current event because there's just nothing that appeals to me.

I'm a player who got into ESO because of Bethesda's rpgs. I have primarily enjoyed it for the world, the characters, the story and the fun I can have casually roleplaying and being creative. That's not to say I haven't challenged myself with dungeons, arenas etc but ultimately, I'm a story forcused/rpg player. I suspect a lot of people who play ESO are similar. I can't see this patch bringing back interest from players like me.

I'll probably run the content to see what it's like and then go back to doing what I was doing before. If they add something that engages me then I'll give ESO more attention but right now, I regret allowing my sub to renew a little. Got momentarily optimistic around the time of the companion Q&A and decided not to cancel - barely played since :| .

BG3 for me as well, along with starfield, cyberpunk, and total war: Warhammer, even F76… So many alternatives that are demanding my attention.

    I just don’t have time for a game that seems to be saying to me;

“Thank you for your time in game, but we no longer are interested in having you as a core customer.”

I disagree. I'm a PvPer through and through, and myself and a lot of PvP guildies are excited for EA. Solo content (and Duo in this instance) is pretty appealing for a lot of PvPers as you build in a similar way - you have to be self reliant. Plus, I've been itching for difficult, replayable PvE content for quite sometime now.

Thank God I'm so sick of dungeons. Why they thought I wanted 4 new dungeons a year that I can't complete with grace due to the damn speed runners. It's about time they added solo duo content. Deal with it. I've had to deal with YEARS of 4 man content. It's our time now

ive been very pleased with a lot of the ESO content this year

a lot of things in the game for me significantly improved after they did the account wide achievements

my only real complaint right now is companion unlocks

definitely looking forward to the endless archive for running either solo + companion or duo and i also am intrigued by the roguelike nature of it
