Companion system

I think the companion system should be updated more and fixed. Great game just tweaks to companions to spam or use ultimates more and better healing and skill usage is cool. There is always crafting armor for companions also. I may jump t9 chrono odyssey though, but that doesn't have customizations like I want from seen. Maybe the usage of multiple companions for dark anchors or hire people for imperial sewers to kill bosses and world bosses solo.

Obviously since my friend will be playing it on game pass core I will be playing more often. The game seems dead and needs reviving to really benefit. It's empty in towns or slightly empty.

Companion is too weak to be of much use, it is a threshold of laughable incompetency for human player

ZOS should give us a centralized interface where I can view all my companions and manage skills and equipment without having to summon any of them. readjusting drop rates and properly introducing legendary comp gear would also be a good idea.

I was in a vet dungeons with my companion at final boss and she was getting damage done for being weak lvl 8. I try to pay for eso plus as much as possible, but running into concerns. Crafting companion armor is cool. Crafting dps armor and maybe specing they skill points. Crafting they weapons also. I can easily get medium armor materials. Maybe chrono odyssey has armor crafting for companions if they have them.

I think companions would be a LOT more useful if you could have companion gear sets with proc effects. It would make the companions a lot more fun to play with and potentially make them viable, IMO. But only if they'd actually step out of the AoEs.

Companions when built well perform better than most randos I meet in RND dungeons. There have been many times that a Tank or DPS drops and we complete the dungeon with a companion in that slot.

I remember rather vaguely a PUG dungeon where the tank left us low and dry and my sweet Isobel popped up as I had forgotten to unlink her.

As I was the healer I kept her very alive as well as my PUG buddies. It all ended well and I really wish I could have a drinkie later with my PUGees and my 'Bel <3

I have an ethereal crown of three spirit crows:
    - On top is Grandfather spouting words of wisdom.
    - On the left is Empathy who is rather naive.
    - On the right is Ego who is rather greedy.
The incessant cackling is quite amusing.

IC is a pvp zone, so you cant use companions there

and if you need multiple companions to be able to do a dolmen, then suggest looking at your build

companions do need to be expanded though (mostly smarter AI, and maybe some more skill options such as an ultimate in each class skill line they have, or maybe weapon/guild skill line ultimates just for more options)

and no the game is not dead, like at all
    plays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

My companions are about a three-quarter substitute for a random player in normal level content. They are at level 20 and have appropriate blue and purple gear. I think any move that brings them on par with experienced players would be wrong and move the game further away from an MMO.

My tank is great on normal content, mainly taunting bigger enemies while I kill them. My healer is good for my characters that don't have great good self-healing. Other DD companions are just there to take some of the heat off me in solo fights.

They're not that terrible, just above a new player who doesn't know how to weave. Ember is the highest singled target damage dealer out of all of them, assuming you can keep her alive and enemies away without breaking rotation. By herself can deal 14k DPS. If you can provide the Armor Penetration debuffs consistently, you can increase that to 15k DPS. Paired up with a Dragon Knight brings it up to 16k DPS while paired with an Arcanist that goes up to 17k DPS. I'm a solo player so I don't know how group compositions would go on improving it any higher.

I mainly ignore my companions, let them do their own thing and treat them as another player who happens to be around. They're just a random body, the way I play doesn't really change with or without them around, it's just extra flavor. I do the same with the Bear and Sorc pets, I may periodically turn on the Tormentor or Pulsing Imp, but it's cast and forget letting them go attack whoever they want.

Companions level extremely slowly. Since their release I've gained 1000cp, and currently have Mirri and Isobel around 14/15, ember just hit 10. Dunno about Basti. Crazy slow.

And unlocks need sorting out too. I have 12 characters, not sure how excessive that is, but with 6 companions now that's way too many repeated quests.

Agree, leveled Mirri and Ember in dragonstar arena with an friend, think its the fastest way.
Just going around questing and it takes forever Sharp is 15 and the other guy I have not started leveling.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

How much dps we talking here? Able to kill bloodspawn on vet (the old dps competency test)?

For fun one night 6 of us took our companions into a few craglorn trials and let them do all the work. We didn't heal or do any damage. They managed to do just fine on their own. they tanked and healed, and though it took longer killed several of the bosses before we got bored.

Now granted 6 players can do those trials in half the time but I was pretty impressed how well they performed. With a better AI system they could be competent.
