My thoughts after 21 random vet dungeons today.

I ran 21 random vet dungeons today. I hadn’t done any non-pvp group content since U35. I don’t own Lost Depths or Scribes of Fate but do have the other DLCs. I was on a healer.

- I had way more good groups and good experiences than bad. By a huge margin.

- we had very few wipes and zero DNF

- I only got 3 fake tanks. I expected more based on forum chatter. One was vote kicked at the first boss, one was coa1 so it didn’t matter, and one I got kicked because I stopped healing when I kept getting boss aggro. When the group complained about heals I asked why I should do my job if the “tank” who has 22k health and no taunt doesn’t have to do theirs. Got the boot.

- if you don’t know the mechanics please say so up front! People would rather take the time to explain than wipe because you don’t know what to do

- In many instances the speed runners slow things down. Groups waste more time trying to get out of combat to go through doors than they would have spent just clearing the trash

- Low dps is a widespread problem but isn’t a barrier to finishing in most cases. Super high dps can still blow by most mechanics while low dps groups need to know and follow them to clear the harder vets.

- vMoS overhears my GPU. It didn’t before, but did both times I got it today

- When did people start running coa1 right-to-left instead of left-to-right?

- The event drops are good. It’s nice to have an event that doesn’t fill my inventory with low value junk with stupidly high drop rates

The big takeaway for me is that most of the dungeons are still fun, and despite the number of forum threads to the contrary, most groups are good. Many of them are great.

We are undaunted.

I agree, most of my groups have been pretty good overall. A few bad apples, but that's just how it goes. I'm mostly running the dungeons that drop the masks, so the fake queuer's haven't been as much of an issue. Loving the motif drops, those are normally a pain to farm.

I seem to almost always have better results with vet groups.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it deals with dungeons.

    Thank you for your understanding

Hardly any fake roles will fake role in veteran dungeons. Normal dungeons is where they are mostly messing up the game. Finding 3 in that few random veteran dungeons is already quite a few to be honest. And yes, it is that big of an issue in normals. (Keep in mind, if these fake roles in veterans get a DLC dungeon, they will bail and leave 3 players with yet another long queue. Something they often do in normals as well.)

But I do agree with all your other points, except the GPU overheating one. In my experience speedrunners always slow down the run, as we have to backtrack or wait a long time to be able to move on. Due to being in combat.

PS: I have decided to no longer spend any money on ESO as long as the speedrunners and fake roles issues aren't fixed!

I've noticed more good players due to the event.

    Edit
I would agree that fake DPS is a much more prevalent problem than fake support roles in vet.

I ran around 10 veteran dungeons today, and had a speed freak in 4 of them. Interestingly, all of them queued as a tank. In every single instance, I eventually caught up to them struggling to clear a mob all by themselves (poorly), so they saved exactly 0 seconds.

In Volenfell, the speed demon was standing at the door, blustering at the other players to, "Just loose aggro! I can't open the door." Sadly, none of us had the "Dump Aggro" skill slotted.

I agree, it actually takes longer to complete a dungeon. All the loose trash all over the place makes it quite confusing, and you're always 1 man short.

Of the three times I got vcoa1 the groups went immediately right twice, and once cleared the center and then the right before heading left.

I’ve literally run that dungeon over a hundred times in the past, farming for BSW jewels and weapons, and always ALWAYS went left to right. I was so confused that all my groups went opposite this weekend.

    Right to left feels inefficient

I still do the classic BSW farm route, if it's only a quick run: Jump down the waterfall (the most difficult part, but fun if someone fails to hit the water 😆) and then left to right, clearing out the center while moving to the left (or simply bypassing the trash by riding around the tree).

Going right first sounds not fun.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

HA I would have taken my time clearing each and every mob and left him at the door.

Yes, in veteran, the crushing majority of players are good, no matter their role.
That's why I do my random in vet, now.
A bit longer, but the runs are far more pleasant, with everyone sticking to their role and doing it well.

The occasionnal fake role/weak DD try their luck, still, though the latter don't bother me as much since I can carry reasonably.

"most groups are good"....including few of nonsense PUG people. :#

Fortunately, there're not much nonsense players compared with normal.
But it doesn't mean zero possibility.

    My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
    I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
    with [1Stam Blade].
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.
