Update 39 you call it quality of life improvement?

So update 39 was announced as the update with the many bug fixes and quality of life improvements instead of new content. So far the game is still as buggy and laggy as before.
For example, years ago i spent days in IC to kill 100 scamps and now its only 10 . The daily conquest board of kill 40 enemy players changed to 150 players.
You call this an improvement of quality of life?
No offence but I see this update , and so do alot of my friends, as a big disappointment and a middlefinger to the players that have been playing and supporting this game for years.
And not even gonna mention the pvp kill feed in zonechat , that for some people can feel like naming and shaming publicly.

Maybe the intention was to change it to 15 but they accidentally got it wrong it again.

    Another great patch for PvPers.
I start to think it would be best if they completly ignore us and don't change anything in PvP anymore becasue every time they suceed in making it worse.
I don't know how it is even possible, but they seem very capable of doing it.

the PVP kill feed in zone chat is a totally unnecessary gimmick.

what's particularly annoying is that it dominates the chat window and its now easy to miss important comms.

I have to be honest, I was really hyped for some cool QoL improvements.

Reality seems to have fallen far short. Some changes are great, don't get me wrong, but they're balanced with unnecessary amendments (e.g. the kill 40 players is now 150, as above).

All the good stuff I was hoping for (e.g. the new style attunable crafting tables that can be multiple sets in one) got bumped to the next release. Who knows if they're even coming at all......?

I can't help but think this was a missed opportunity to add features into the base game, bringing it up-to-date with DLC content. What we ended up with feels a bit cheap, regardless of whether that's a fair assessment or not.

A lot of the changes made were good, but the problem is that the vast majority of the changes made during U39 affect a very small portion of players. Most of the changes made were geared towards brand new players. Awesome, but when the entire update is devoted to those changes, the rest of the playerbase feels a bit underwhelmed.

I agree, it spams up the main chat.

I honestly really like having it, but I wish it could be in it's own chat window.

Well, if you're a solo player I can definitely see this being a huge slap in the face.
I play with one other, or a small group most of the time and this has actually helped me (healer) be able to complete this quest. I know it is counter-intuitive that killing 150 should be so much easier than kill 40, but it was something regarding how the kills were tabulated.

Before, if I was in a group it really wouldn't matter if I did any damage to a player... I could light attack every player we came across and I may get one, maybe two kills added to my kill 40 in an evening. I basically would rather have nothing in my quest log than pick the kill 40 quest up.

Now though, if I contribute to killing them with damage (and IMO healing players that kill them should count.. but alas, ZoS does not think so) I will get credit. So I'm actually able to complete this quest now.

The reasoning behind the 40 killl now beeing 150 is a change on how its calculated if im not mistaken. Something along the line of it now count fpr all groupm member when i get a kill instead of just me. Or at least its how i understood a fellow player who explained to me. So a in a group it should go much faster than before.

Yes, at least in an group if fills up very fast in large battles.

It feels like any other patch to me. There's a quite few nice things in the patch, but also quite a few that miss the mark. I really like that they chained Bera to a post. I like the changes to the TG and DB quest lines; I wish they would've made the same changes for MG and FG. The quest giving changes are nice, but I feel like they really miss the mark. There's too much quest noise regardless of level, so I wish they would've done something more universally appreciated.

I think they spent a lot of time on trying to change the questing experience for new players vs actually making any big QoL changes for the veteran players on the game.

Much of the playtesting in the PTS was also them trying to reinvent the wheel with the destruction staff passives after all these years and it changed nothing other than bows are good now. They didn't even touch the stagnant PvP meta we have right now around everyone using DW Masters, Draugr, Vate, proc set combo.

Even as a solo player 150 can fill up fast in a fight. Especially if a certain zone chat general brings a faction stack to a keep, but I can see the annoyance. U39 was pretty good imo.

My quality of life was actively harmed this patch as one of the few remaining werewolf players in PvP.

      ci7o6iatbrcc.jpg

We asked why. We got nothing in response. It's gotten so much harder to keep up with targets now that we have no snare removal and no way to snare plus no way to get Major Expedition without also nerfing our damage.

Just like how we can put the keep npc notifications in the top right, separate from the zone chat. I'm surprised it wasn't an option.

We have a kill feed now? :/

If the next QoL addition is a kill cam, I'm not stepping into PvP ever again. You will NOT force me to watch other players Teabag at me.

Yep, this was the most frequent post in Cyrodiil while I was there yesterday. Thank goodness you can turn it off.

Other players pointed out that the kill feed gives away player locations and that is not a good thing.

Miat's PVP alerts has a killfeed that is in its own separate box, as well as a bunch of other useful features (like turning the crossed swords into floating icons you can see in the game). The killfeed in the version on minion doesn't use the new ZOS system, but there's a version in the comments section on ESOUI that's been updated.

The game's api has always given enough information to construct a killfeed in addons, and people have (see my comment about Miat's above), this just enables it for everyone without needing an addon, although, the range it covers is larger than could be seen before.
