I always look forward to the Undaunted events, running dungeons with my crew is my favorite activity on ESO, but the event starting so soon after the release of another game from a Zenimax studio and not lasting a long time is a bummer.

They probably timed it to maximize release day sales of Starfield and make sure they sell as many copies as possible before the event started, but also try to drag ESO players who bought Starfield back for the event so they don't lose them entirely. I guarantee that Bethesda has done the research to figure out how to minimize lost sales of existing titles when they release new ones.

Personally, I'll probably extend my quick daily break from Starfield for logging in to ESO to feed horses, as long as the queues aren't too egregious.

It's not clear from the news bit if the Opal Masks only drop on HM or if they also drop on normal or vet- non-HM.

Just wanted to say thanks again for doing the event over 2 weekends. Personally work every other weekend and I remember when they only did this event on one weekend in years past.

It makes the most sense to farm Opal Masks from Veteran Hard Mode clears only. While the article doesn't explicitly state that the Opal masks only drop from Veteran Hard Mode, you'd be shooting yourself in the foot if you didn't take advantage of the increased drop chance.

The rarer, regular non-Opal mask variants drop from Veteran non-Hard Mode clears, with an increased chance if you already have the associated Veteran Hard Mode clear achievement. You do not need to do repeat runs on Veteran Hard Mode if you are only chasing the regular non-Opal mask variant - you simply need to have completed Veteran Hard Mode once.

If you are wanting to farm both the Opal and non-Opal masks at the same time, you should farm Veteran Hard Mode clears.

For example, Slimecraw returned to us during this event, but it only has a non-Opal mask. Therefore, if you want to farm Slimecraw efficiently, complete Wayrest Sewers 1 on Veteran Hard Mode once, and then all subsequent clears can be done on Veteran non-Hard Mode.

Lord Warden Dusk, on the other hand, drops in both Opal and non-Opal variants, so it makes sense to farm Veteran Hard Mode continuously until you have received the Opal mask - then you can continue farming on Veteran non-Hard Mode to get the non-Opal mask.

So, I run a dungeon or two, get a gold box and a purple box, as expected. Then, I do one of Bolgrul's daily quests. I get a purple box, but it has nothing inside but 1 key. Is this as expected?

Got the same thing, one undaunted key.

This shows how they have ruined the RNG.

I would like to gently remind ZOS that not all their players have the time to run instanced dungeons every day. I'm genuinely glad some do and enjoy that time.

If Bolgrul is giving a daily quest that awards Undaunted points, then it should darned well count for the Undaunted event!

As mentioned, the event reward box from Bolgrul was so underwhelming, it was farcical.
