Doesn't Blocking Crown Store Gifting Smell Like Class-Action Lawsuit?

As long as they resolve the issue where stuff already purchased as gifts either get sent to the recipient or refunded, which they are working on now, no.

They aren't obligated to sell anything in the crown store. And since games are a service, certain features of that service can change based on reasonable availability.

Sent the thread to a lawyer friend of mine. His reaction, and I quote...

    "Lol, no."

What are your damages? No really? I’m curious. You suddenly can’t…give a friend one type of gift? Are there other forms of gifts you can send in game? Yup? Okay dismissed with prejudice bye.

No, it doesn't smell like a class-action lawsuit.

For one thing, players haven't always been able to "gift" items from the Crown Store. According to the UESPWiki, gifting wasn't added to the Crown Store until Update 18, which coincided with the release of the Summerset chapter.

ZOS apparently felt that allowing players to gift Crown Store items to other players was a nice gesture, a good thing to do. My guess is that they still feel that way, and that the current decision to pause that ability was not made lightly and is not meant to be a permanent change.
