A suggestion/idea for the game [undecided on delete]

The game needs this for character customization.
This is for changing the character's hair color, major adornment colors, minor adornment colors, body/face marking colors, eye colors, and facial hair colors. This can be done in the character creation screen and while in-game playing. A new UI and system for in-game which will be made under the collections tab called "Ultimate Makeover". Note: This will be optional to use. It will be account bound setting that's part of the base game. Not a purchasable upgrade.

Something like this can also be added into the graphics settings too for lighting effects(glow, sparkles, flashiness) of objects, spells, and ability appearances. Except hue (I know changing the color of the glow would be fun too but no-- maybe later)

...I guess in a fantasy setting with dyes and even magic, there's nothing saying people COULDNT have neon purple hair. Plus I'm all for additional character customization, but the kinds I want are very Race specific.

There's also a fantasy setting in which one could envisage such an addition coming free as part of the base game and not as a purchasable upgrade  !

This sounds like a very complicated and resource heavy change. I do not want to have to set sliders such as these for every aspect of my character during creation. Nor do I want to have to go into settings and set all my skill colors etc..

While I do enjoy customization options, sometimes less is more.

You say that about all my suggestions. If you don't like them then don't respond.

Or maybe I shouldn't have posted my suggestions in the first place 🤔.

They won't give up the opportunity to sell you cosmetics through crowns and gems. If you want to change to any normal colors you still need to buy an appearance change token. They recently sold a hairstyle with blue highlight streaks for example. Don't expect any new customization to be a free addition, it's always going to be monetized.

Or learn how to handle criticism? Grow thicker skin? Or keep deleting threads making the rest of us waste time posting replies that get deleted with it?

So you post stuff only for people to agree with you? Every answer that's not praise is "negative" and causes you to ask the mods to delete entire threads, not just your own comments as usual?

Every person has an opinion. To almost every possible topic there is.
Different opinions are not a personal attack.

    I'm sorry moderators,
it seems like another one of my suggestions to improve use of creativity in this game is going to be deleted. I can't take criticism or negative feedback that well. I feel so bad about this. :'( I hope someone at least thinks my suggestions are good one of these days.

I have a desire to give out my suggestions, ideas, and feedback about the game just like everyone else, but, I feel like I'm not allowed to.

One reason to post a suggestion is to find out if others support the change. Discussing the pros and cons can lead to fine tuning the original idea to make it more desirable to more players. Finding out what others don't like about an idea can be very helpful and lead to a better version of the suggestion.

Feel free to post whatever you want, someone will always disagree with you though. But don't let that bother you or stop you from posting, as sometimes the best ideas come after others tweak/change them.

Besides, we do not decide what ZOS does with the game or where they take ideas from. So here is no harm in posting something.

That said, some colors should stay off the game, or it will become too flashy/too anime. And that just doesn't fit ESO. Sorry OP.

PS: Threads shouldn't be deleted just because the OP wants it gone.
PPS: Many players disagree with my crazy ideas, doesn't stop me from posting them! :sunglasses:

That's not what I meant. I'm not talking about purchasable hair styles and other stuff in the crown store. I'm talking about being able to change the hair color at any time in the game as a new feature without costs.

With those 3 sliders (hue, lightness, and saturation) I suggested hair and other stuff can literally be any color even natural ones. You can even invent a new color.

I'd love if they added a hair color change to the Outfit station, for example. Or added a pack of hair dyes that could be purchased with crowns and could then be changed in game like we do with the hairstyle pack. But sliders are too much micromanaging and as others pointed out it could become too flashy.

I hope the mods won't delete the thread, it's a perfectly valid one within the forum rules. The OP may need to learn to handle different opinions on a discussion forum, that's all.

@wilykcat There is nothing wrong with offering new suggestions or ideas but you have to expect that while some may like an idea, others won't.
The old pearl "You can't please all of the people all of the time." is soooo true.

I suspect many people are burnt out on "new idea" threads as well, I know I am.
NOT that the idea is bad, or the person behind it, or anything like that.
For me, it's just when I read a thread like this I think "Oh, that IS a cool idea!" (Yours is btw) but then very quickly my brain follows with "But, that's never going to happen." It's a bummer.

Look at the front page of "General' most days and there are several suggestion or idea threads, many of them really good ideas.
I forget who but not long ago someone wrote up an entire new Barbarian class, skills, everything, it was AWESOME. But again, not likely to ever make it into the game, which sucks.
PPL have a lot of good ideas on here but Zenimax has a very clear vision and direction for ESO I feel and they don't veer from it easily nor often.

But who knows, maybe your idea catches steam and dev attention and DOES get implemented, those things have happened.
Just expect that there will always be ppl that will dislike something, sometimes they may post reasons why which will allow you to make your idea better!

I think your idea is a great one, I love more options for customization. Honestly tho, if I had to settle for less I'd just be happy to not have to PAY crowns when I want to change my hair colour :)

This constant posting of ideas and then editing them / asking for them to be deleted is, respectfully, a waste of everyone else's time, and is likely to result in decreased engagement with future threads by OP going forward.

There is nothing wrong with posting ideas, but one can't expect everyone to agree with them and shouldn't take any disagreement with an idea as some kind of personal attack. It's a public forum full of many different people with many different opinions.

In a fantasy game players should create and/or customize their characters look how ever the want. let players use their imaginations and get even more creative. The sliders I listed in my original post is not just for hair color. They're for eye colors, adornment colors, facial hair color, and body/face marking colors too.

Some players want bright colors on their characters when others want a more natural look. With these different color sliders, both are possible.

These are options. I personally prefer sliders as a lot more can be done with character customization instead of the selecting one of a truck load of boxes. It will free up more space on the UI. This also will make it so a character is more unique and less generic.

I keep on having to add on more stuff to my suggestion which is why I keep on editing my comments.
