Well, I personally don't, but I don't see any reason it couldn't be added. I've never been interested in spears, pole arms etc.

Would love these, one problem with why something like spears would be harder than sword & spell, or staves for the other schools of magic, is that ZOS would need to go back and create countless unique spear designs for all of the styles.

If you just mean adding spears as a one-handed weapon option then sure. If you mean adding a new skill line then it depends on how it's different from the current options.

I don't actually care that much about the weapon types my characters use. I often have an idea of the type of weapons that character would prefer, and I will use some odd combinations if I think it suits their personality, but even then how it plays is almost always more important than how it looks.

So if spear and shield is just like sword and shield I don't see the point in adding it. It would need to do something different (and also different from the other combinations available) to be worthwhile, and not just increased range.

Since ZOS doesn't seem interested in new weapon skill lines, having a spear cosmetic replacer for SnB would be cool.

Cosmetic only. I don't think it's really adds anything to gameplay aside from a bit more reach so a whole skill line is unnecessary imo.

I've always fancied the idea of a polearm skill line, with each polearm type granting a different bonus like how two-handed and dual wield works. In this system, spear's bonus would be that you could equip a shield (perhaps with some malus to offset this).

I think it would depend on what it did.

To me, the shield kind of cuts down on the options for what the spear can do.
