Weapon Differences?

So, we all know that the Dual Wield Skill line has difference skills than 1 Hand and Shield skill lines and every other weapon skill line. But, I can't find any information about the differences between weapons otherwise.

For instance: in Dual Wield, I can use:

2 Daggers
Sword and Dagger
Mace and Dagger
Axe and Dagger
2 Swords
Sword and Mace
Sword and Axe
2 Maces
Mace and Axe
2 Axes

Are there any inherent differences between a Dagger, Sword, Axe, and Mace other than aesthetic? I am also wondering this about the 2 Handed Weapons as well.

If there is somewhere in the game or another resource, I would be grateful for the help.

Look at the damage. Weapon shape is a purely cosmetic thing. A level 6 Nord one handed mace will do the same damage as a level 6 wood elf one handed sword. It's the enchant, traits and quality that edges up the base damage.

Two handed weapons are the same way. It all depends on which skills you choose to spend points in.

Seems to be a lost cause really. They should have had some inherent differences in weapons themselves outside of passives. Such as a chance to do some sort of small debuff, or weapon speed (at a reduced damage).

Personally I have always been a fan of the damage types, Crush, Pierce, slas, etc. and having different mobs or armors weaker against some.

So for now the only reason to have all the weapon types, is to look different, and to inflate the crafting research for blacksmithing.

As for that passive...Axe does bleed. dagger gets extra crit, mace deals more damage against armored foes. Sword gets bonus damage against all enemy types.

I remember reading a passive that gives different effects to the weapons.. axes gained bleeding, maces ignored some armor etc. I just don't remember where the passive was.

weapons do different damages depending on enemy it seems .. example maces do more damage against armoured targets then factor in the damage from passives.

Could be fluctuating damage but this is my findings

If this is the case, a dev response would be awesome. As it stands now, the only sure thing anyone seems to know is that weapons only affect a few passives, other then that they are strictly cosmetic.

The Weapon Tables here show that the damage doesn't differ from one handed weapon types or two handed weapon types. I have no idea if weapon speed is factored into this or not though...

I believe Daggers have a higher crit rating, so having a sword and dagger increases the chance hitting a critical strike.

Not sure about speed.
