How will YOU approach the endless archive?

(Assuming you will engage with this activity) Will you primarily play with a buddy or a companion?

If you play with a companion, what are you thinking for your setup? Will you have them heal, tank or dps? What sets are you thinking about running? Interested to see peoples’ thoughts with the update 40 showcase coming in 2-3 weeks! :)

Ideal setup is probably tanky Isobel. I haven't checked Sharp / Az's skill trees yet, but I think she's the only one with two heals. With enough cooldown reduction, she can maintain taunt endlessly and rotate her heals, with occasional support skills thrown in.

I would assume 2 dps but I can swap as needed. Need to find a friend though… they’ve basically all quit haha…

    Too soon to tell.

However, my first approach will likely be on foot, and with nothing more than a companion. Likely Ember.

Solo when i'm solo and duo when i'm not. If any companion would be benefitial in there it's probably a support healer.

I don't engage with companions past getting achievements and maybe as a cosmetic option for some characters, so that's something that I'd do with someone from my four man group presumably on some off day, or just solo most likely.

It's too early to determine the best comp but will likely be 2 Templars with high dps and cross heals. Players will need to run tanky but also have damage. Similar to 2vX comps in Cyrodiil/IC. Second best comp will be Templar + other class.

To start with likely my Magplar with my bestie Bastian as a tanky DD, I always run BoL on her(my templar) for emergencies.

Depending on how the dungeon is set up will then affect which character I use, likely to be a one bar Oaken build though! 😂

If it's got loot I really want, I'll try it if it's at an alright price point otherwise, I'll likely skip. I like Elder Scrolls for it's stories and I tend to like the more grounded content better.

How I try it would likely depend on if the content has an enrage timer or not.

If it doesn't enrage, I'll probably go on a tanky build with a tanky companion and just watch a few seasons of a tv show while clearing it.

If it does enrage, I'll probably need to do it with another person or significantly invest in companion gear for damage

I'll walk in with a companion to try it. If it sucks I file it on low priority, if it is fun I play with companion or group too if get consistently under 999+ ping by then. (My ping seems stable 110ms last few days but for some reason today I have been twice kicked out of gaem with "Error 302" and "An error has occurred" when I logged in and started doing writ at Vivec.)

I'm hoping that companion gear will drop if it is run with a companion.
Also, as to some of the rewards, a little while ago, one of the Devs slipped during a live stream and mentioned "class specific" gear. Possibly dropping from the endless dungeon.

No, not really. Closer to an arena, with waves of enemies to clear before moving to the next room, with bosses every so often.

It depends on what the rewards are. If there's a defined stickerbook, will probably just work towards that with a friend or my wife. I'll try to fit in my routine of questing and dungeons.

It depends on how the mob packs are set-up and the mechanics, but I think generally 2 DDs with synergistic builds and off-heals/shields might be the most optimal option, and probably a lot of fun as well. For going solo with a companion though a heal-tank build for the companion would be better.

With a companion (tank or healer). If it's not doable with a companion, I won't spend any time on it (though I think ZOS has already said it should be doable with one - hopefully that doesn't mean a slog. Hopefully it's been designed with a party of 1 + companion in mind).

I have a strong suspicion my friends and I are all gonna do duos and run it while we all talk/yell/laugh/etc in voice together. But I think which friend and I will both do damage with some self heals.

Solo. Companions either aren't needed because fights are too easy or they die quickly in aoe, or fight is challenging and you'd better use them as a sacrifice for pearlescent.

I just wish it wouldn't have 2-man mechanics and be decently difficult at higher levels or whatever. Solo content like maelstorm and vateshran ages quickly, while we still have some vdlc dungeons with hms and vet blackrose that prove to be challenging. These instances are built with proper groups in mind and you must be tanky, have heals and deal damage to clear these, while it's not the case with solo arenas.
