The purpose is to be immortal while holding mobs that hit hard if you miss a block.

Disclaimer: I do not care if it's selfish. I am looking for immortally without a bite 😉

Leeching on DK is supposedly a good choice.

leeching plate is definitely by far one of the best tank sets if thats what your going for, it also basically gives you a passive ~1000 dps

sorry to say though, that wont save you if you miss a block on some vet dungeon/trial enemies, as those are 1 shots if your not blocking

if you want a good pair set for selfish survivability, i would recommend hatchling shell, as it grants a dmg shield upon taking dmg with a 6 sec cooldown (a slightly less selfish version of this is brands of imperium from WGT, longer cooldown but stronger shield and the shield is given to nearby allies)

my 2nd acct toon using these 2 sets in conjunction i was able to face tank without blocking through at least vet fungal 1 (by face tank, i mean i was dual boxing through vet fungal 1 and my 2nd acct was tanking without blocking the entire time, though it did need a few support heals, it was able to get through it)

Leeching plate is indeed powerfull with many adds, our tank was asked to wipe in vHoF at the spider boss

He couldn't drop below 75% even standing in the beam with how much he healed himself with it and had to run at the boss to get killed by its shield

Crimson Twilight is a bit better than Leeching in my opinion. But here is a link that will help you see your options. Oddly, they mention Crimson Twilight on their site for some reason even though it's better than most of the sets they do discuss.

I've heard the exact opposite aha. Regardless, I mention leeching because I think it procs the DK passive to give you stamina, assisting in permablocking. Not just for the healing.

Leeching Plate is stronger, but looses out on fights where mobs move around a lot. It can also proc on that one lone ranged mob instead of the twenty mobs invading your personal space.
Good set, used it for years, but it has it's drawbacks.

crimson twilight used to be really strong before the nerf, now i would say its weaker than leeching

defending warrior set is probably better than crimson twilight as it has a shorter cooldown

but i still prefer leeching for 100% uptime as long as you hold the enemy in the aoe

Leeching set does not give stamina in any way I don't think. Have to use the vampire leech ability to do that.

It's poison damage though. The only reason it wouldn't is if procs don't proc passives. I know procs don't proc procs but I thought passives were an exception.

Edit: Leeching does proc combustion and gives you stamina. Unfortunately, doesn't seem like it procs it very often but it still will give stamina from time-to-time. Probably more consistent in a large group of mobs, where leeching shines anyways.

it restores health, and it seems what the OP was looking for was the survivability aspect, not resource sustain

sustain (health) and sustain (stamina/magicka) are slightly different topics lol
