Are leads found in treasure chests on any sort of timer?

See title - If I find a lead in a treasure map chest, should I hold off on digging up more map chests in the same zone or is lead frequency just random?

Two days ago I got Daedric daggers and Daedric chests out of two Deadlands maps dug up within a few minutes of each other.

I had felt like there was a cooldown on leads from chests back when these ancestral styles first started being released, but that’s clearly not the case, at least not universally or currently.

the leads are RNG, ive gotten some back to back and some like 10 maps in between

the one thing to note is that if you are going for motif leads you cannot get duplicate leads if you dont dig them up

so if your bulk looting treasure maps, its best to not dig up any leads until your done with the maps

Cleaning out the inventories of a dozen characters over the weekend, it does appear that the appearance of the leads is random.

Leads are not tied to any kind of timer, i think you should expect on average 1 lead per about 3 map usages give or take, AKA it's random.
