Show All Weapons Idea

First off, I know this is a minor issue or idea compared with all the other issues that plague ESO but I thought I would suggest it anyway.

To add more immersion, I'd really like to have all weapons visible on my character whether they are sheathed or not. Pulling a weapon out of thin air is not as cool (even for magic users!). This would take some animation work but I think it would be cool. And of course, make it optional or even remove the feature in PVP areas.

So basically, both bar weapons should be visible. For example, if you're a Stam DD and your main bar is Dual Wield and your back bar is Bow; just make it so your Bow still shows sheathed on your back while you're wielding your main bar weapons. If you switch to your back bar, now your dual wield weapons are sheathed on your hips and your Bow is equipped.

Other combinations:
  • Double Destruction/Restoration or combination Staves: Crisscross on the back. You pull your main bar Staff and your back bar staff still shows on your back.
  • Dual Wield plus 2-hander: Same as DW and Bow. Dual wield on hips and 2-hander on back.
  • Double Dual Wield: Front bar on hips and back bar has weapons crisscross on back.
  • Sword and Board and Frost Staff: Sword on hip, Shield on back. Staff on back (underneath shield)
  • Only two combinations that I'm not sure of is double Sword and Board or double Bow. Perhaps it only shows main bar shield on back. Double Bow could be crisscrossed on back? (I admit that is kinda weird)
Anyway, more immersive options for the game is always better. It makes me think of this old Skyrim mod called Armed to the Teeth I used back in the day. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9614

How would that look with constant barswapping in combat?

But I get what you're up to and agree in general.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

im not really seeing any added value to this, in fact it might be less immersive because of all the floating weapons (which im sure will be appreciated by all those who like floating hip flaps or shoulders lol)

i also was about to mention bow/bow because all of the quivers point the same direction, they would have to actually implement "left handed" quivers in order to have the 2 sets of quivers along with somehow fitting 2 bows

after thinking about it, i think a change like this would actually be less immersive honestly

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

If it's optional per character, I'd be all for this.

I have some characters that use identical weapons on either bar so I don't have to watch them pull weapons out of thin air.
I have some characters who use different weapons on each bar, and I'd love to see all of their weapons at once.
I have some characters who have gloambound weapons so I don't have to think about it, but that only works for magical characters.

Forget game balance. Gimme roleplay options!

It would be overly complicated to design a system to permit both sets of weapons on a character with all the weapon, armor motifs, and costumes without serious clipping issues. I seriously doubt Zenimax will consider the outcome worth the time and effort to make it happen.

I only play mystic archers and dual staff mages and they all use gloambound style with makes weapons invisible when sheathed. Their whole concept is that their weapons are summoned - pulled out of thin air. ;)

I don't object to the concept proposed with the change that if both bars have the same weapon only one shows and the provision that it be optional per character. That said, however, I believe @Amottica is correct about clipping issues and not worth Dev time and effort.

Nah. I use a bow & dual wield, and I prefer the look of the dual wield only.

I do wish weapons wouldn't disappear during certain emotes, though.

If it is optional, then why not.

I'm not sure I'll enjoy it so much.
I play casually 1st view for immersion, so this feature wouldn't add anything for me.
My 3rd view is for harder content. This feature is pointless here.

But I can imagine using it in RP easily. It is also good idea for people who play 3rd view the whole game.

PS: Surfing on a bow and duals at the same time will be just priceless ;)

It would probably be way too "busy" for me. Optional would be okay.
