All settings should be account wide

I'm going through my nameplate / health bar settings and I think that to have to do these settings on every character, and a new character can sure take awhile if you have alot of characters.
Could there even be an addon possibly out there that makes these settings account wide? lol

There's an addon called Account Settings, it's a godsend.

Omg, Thanks! Total lifesaver. I'm trying the addon and I love it. So much time being saved.

Also gonna recommend Votan's Keybinder if you want account wide keybinds. Those two addons together are so good when you have a lot of alts.

Such a basic functionality should be part of the game, at least as an option in.

    Only as an option.

The reason a lot of people run alts is because they want them all to be different.

There's a very small number of settings I'd want to be different on some characters, but in general I agree. The only ones I can remember are "prevent attacking innocents" and hiding the quest log in the HUD, which I do on my crafter (who never does quests other than daily writs).

I suppose it should be optional, but I agree it would be much better to have the option. The first time I made a character after installing the addon (and I already had pChat and Binder for key bindings) it felt weirdly exciting to be able to just start playing and not have to spends 10+ minutes setting everything up.

Agree ... especially for us console players who don't have access to add ons

I think it should be an option but not mandatory. I have my Dragonknight set to automatically pick things up (autoloot) , but not my other characters. It would be annoying to get every item going into my inventory in dungeons.

And I don't show what skills are active on the others.

I like them to be different

Also the setting for preventing picking up placed objects. I have it one way for most of my characters, to avoid unintentionally stealing, but I do have one or two thief characters.

Makes sense to me to just change one or two settings on alts that I want to be slightly different against the majority being the same

    Greetings,

This thread has been moved to the Add-Ons & UI Mods section, as it is better suited there.

    Thank you for your understanding.

I guess that gives us an answer of sorts. Account-wide settings are strictly a function of addons, not something ZOS wants discussed as a possible update to the base game.

Use my updated version, the [Masteroshi430's Branch] one. The original one is outdated. 😉
