PvP is the worst it's ever been

I installed this game after a 3 month break to see if the new update was worth anything since they buffed/changed templar a little. It looked promising. I went into PvP like usual and started a fight. This guy had Vateshran staff and one or two other super cheesy proc sets and still couldn't kill me. Fought three proc set Corrosive DKs and killed one of them and again they couldn't kill me so they gave up. Then I fought another person and got hit with a 30K way of fire proc. Uninstalled immediately. This is just ridiculous and I honestly can't believe people actually play this. The game plays for you and isn't fun at all. Proc sets are way out of tune(even worse than greymoor) and have no business being in PvP content. Every good or half decent PvP player on Xbox NA is gone and now I see why. ZoS could really learn a thing or two from Blizzard.

Worst patch was markarth with 4k hp recovery vamps in old mistform and malacath band buffing its procs damage by 25%. This patch is easy compared to how bad it was years ago.

I have been playing since 2018 and I do believe we are playing very different games.

The PvP experience has improved significantly since I started playing.

I think time to kill needs to be lower, this game is the most fun when everyone dies quick. One Tamriel and original oakensoul were the most fun pvp experience. Everyone died quick, no live forever heal fest.

I beg to differ. 2018-2019 is when ZOS started scaling back their investments into PvP aspects of the game, both in terms of development and server resources. That was when the PvP experience began to decline. Now we have super low pop caps and are limited to 12 man groups and very narrow build diversity...and proc sets. It wasn't always like this. The PvP experience in ESO used to be much, much better than it is today. I'll forever miss playing when three to four 24 man groups were running on all three factions at the same time. Those were the good ol' days for sure.

As someone else said, not too sure how the PvP could've possibly improved during that time, especially since PvP hasn't had any additions or new content since 1(!) single BG map in 2019.

I've "mostly" been in no proc pvp for a while now, it's fun and I have no trouble killing people solo. Tried it out after I slowly noticed that 90% of my encounters were people abusing the masters duel wield/vateshran ice staff cheese with way of fire/maarselok. Maybe give those campaigns a try? Interestingly either the vateshran or way of fire proc pulls you out of cloak/stealth every tick. Also way of fire stacks on your death recap, so it is actually possible to see it say 30k, it just adds up the total damage you took from that proc before you died

It felt worse because of the lag sometimes the games barely work even though we go new server the game fell slow slow even when i have xbox series s ,also my friend with series x felt that too but is even worse when you fight on castle the high ping lag from the servers, and the low fps felt like 15 fps ,also i agree way of fire is op how did you get 30k is insane ,my friend got hit with 12k that i though was alot

My friend are barely playing thoses couple days my group is the top 5 on xbox NA we beat everone but the game is boring everone using proc ,the dmg is too high heal is low the game dont fell fun for about 1 and 5 a least

It's kind of funny on Templar as you watch players try to use the DoT proc weapon sets and you purge it away making them useless; but there are players that somehow even with that, manage to get everything to stack and hit at once. Seems suspicious. Could just be lag and desync. You never know because the game runs so poorly

Also, I got hit in a bg with a 20k Assassin’s Will recently.

Was on a tanky warden in Aetherial Ascension with 39k resistance and 3k impen.

As a NB main, I can wholeheartedly say that checks out. I’ve definitely hit 30K-35K Assassin’s Will procs, and it’s not even super difficult (provided everything lines up, obv).
