I don't know if it's considered housing, but I thought it would fit in general discussion. Thank you, mysterious benefactor!

Edit - Clearing up some confusion. This was gifted to me when we were in preview zone chat talking and I said I probably can't afford it during the sale, so my newfound friend gave me this. He then gave me a ton of housing items as well taking me on a tour of 4 huge guild homes full of stuff. I think he's an ESO wizard lol

I wonder if this guy did it to torture me..because in the preview zone chat I was talking about how I have a psijic villa and sweetwater, and that i'd never be able to furnish all 3 because of the endless gold sink. Then about 2 min later..

That's what I said after I bought my first house, Serenity Falls Estate. I now have 28... or is it 29? They are all decorated except The Grand Psijic Villa that I just recently purchased and am working on now.

Housing is why I'm in a trade guild, so I can afford it.

So you bought it from someone (presumably via gold for Crowns) but received it from a mysterious benefactor ? That doesn't add up.

Not sure if OP means they were randomly gifted the house by someone, or they traded gold for crows for it, but even if that's the case, since it's not easy to find people selling that many crowns, it's a great gesture all around. I hope you enjoy it OP, and get to decorate in many creative ways. I have yet to preview it besides having a quick look on the PTS a while ago, but it looks like a really unique home.

Just like I have several times - in a hurry, fail to check for sure - not only gender, but class etc.

I can see how someone could forget to set the class or race or alliance, but the sex is very obvious when doing character creation.

That's my warehouse too.

The ship is nice but I STILL wish they'd give us more open areas like Stillwaters or coldharbour. These houses broken up into so many rooms just aren't my cup of tea.

I certainly know all about husband natterings! 😂 And like @SilverBride I can definitely understand about things like Alliance (I’ve done that before!) and even class, and choosing the wrong voice. But I know I probably spend too long trying to get just the right look for my char that I just can’t imagine getting to the end after finding a name that hasn’t been taken, hitting “Done” or “Create Character” or whatever, then looking at the char in the tutorial or out in the world and saying, “Oops, I’ve accidentally made Bob the Orc a female!” 😊

I only saw it happen years back in WoW, and then it was to characters who claimed to be a girl and had an overly cute name for their character and danced on mailboxes.

Hmm, no one ever paid my Female Khajiit any mind. Even when I had my moments of trying to show off some fur. Most attention I've ever gotten was a wayward compliment from another Khajiit player.

Same, and all of my characters ever have been women.

The only notable thing is that I've gotten weird whispers many times when I'm playing my most traditionally super feminine looking character. But I've never gotten messages like those on my other characters. It's kinda funny

Ohh I see. For some reason I said "sold it to me". Nah it was definitely a gift, I'm too poor right now to splurge on this kind of stuff lol. I have 1.3 in game gold and that woulda cost me at least what, give or take 16 mil? XD plus i'd never buy crowns with gold

I do get gifts traded to me from time to time but they're usually pretty useless but harmless gifts. The one that made me laugh was someone in Rimmen who gave me some chicken and sent the message "chicken for your beauty" . Odd but memorable that one.

I got all kinds of random comments over the years, from friendly to weird. Mostly playing male characters. And the more I think about it: It's mostly in starter zones, or in new zones during the first days of new chapter releases.

Khajiit is most jealous. This one wishes folks would send him fun random little things - would not have to be big or expensive.

This one has gotten complimented nearly all of his 19 khajiit (unfortunately argonian with fluffy delusions apparently is not as appealing) which is always very nice.

I've gotten whispers but no gifts, and no really weird whispers, usually just compliments or comments about my characters outfit. Like my bosmer gets Robin Hood or Peter Pan comments in one of her outfits. Think my breton vampire has gotten most whispers about his appearance as a whole, and one or two of my argonians has been called cute once or twice. My male dunmer has mostly been appreciated outside the game weirdly enough.

Are my characters not mainstream attractive enough for gifts and weird whispers tsk tsk.

The vast majority of my characters are male, but one of my female characters got whispered an offer of free crowns if I would do some "modeling" for them. I thought it was kind of creepy, so I said no thanks. I mentioned it in my guild chat, and it was interesting how many people said they would have done it in a heartbeat.

I had a polyamorous woman in one of my guilds that was always clinging to me in an awkward fashion despite me being openly gay and in a long term relationship of nearly 20 years that gifted me the Alfiq banker one day. She started getting super possessive almost immediately of who I hung out within game and started stirring up drama, and even getting people demoted within the guild who were known to do vet content with me. I finally ended up having to block her and leave the guild because she googled me, found me on Twitter and came at me the next day in conversation dropping my partners name and the city I lived in all casually which was like, "Woah wait... how do you even know this information?"

So needless to say I deleted my Twitter account the day after, am now hesitant to accept any gifts from anybody these days.

Could maybe be because I'm perma offline mode nowadays and mainly just do writs but still
