‘Hide tabard’ option please!

The outfit system is so great, with so many looks possible, but if we want to also rep our guild of choice (through name plates) then the look is often ruined by the baggy apron of tabards. This usually means we just wear a costume since this hides the look, and we still get the guild name plate for people to see in pvp etc.
A redesign of the tabards into something else is something I’ve seen requested, but understandably would take more work.

But we already have hide helmet and hide shoulders, so can this be a thing? Or maybe even just being able to select a guild to display as we do character titles? The goal is to be able to rep a guild name through name plates and still have freedom of outfit styles.
For me personally, and others I’ve spoken to, this change would give us more incentive to farm / buy outfit styles, since we currently just avoid that whole system and use costumes.

I like your original idea and here's what I added on to it.

There should be a check box on each individual armor piec. Uncheck = armor piece is hidden on character. Check = armor piece is visible on character. This willbe part of the equipment ui. . Equipment includes all armor pieces, tabards, and weapons.

The same thing can also apply for costumes.

During pts before outfit system it was hidden till someone asked on stream for it not to be hidden

I said it's optional. The setting I mentioned can be ot in or opt out based on the ui modification in my suggestions. Underwear isn't one of them. I don't know where you got that idea from.

I only have female kahjiit characters and none are topless. I won't make them look like that even with the ui to toggle certain armor pieces to be hidden or visible.

Other players will do goofy stuff like fighting in their underpants during a dungeon or battleground though. You do have a point there.

Maybe to keep it classy when the top armor piece is hidden on a female character, it will look like a cropped tube top instead of underwear.

Agreed. I never wear tabards / rep my guilds because it removes my chest piece entirely, turning it into a black void.

I'd love to show guild names without having to ruin my outfit. IMO it should be in the QoL patches coming up.

As would I. In fact the ghastly tabbard is the only reason that I don't rep my guilds.

I saw a female character the other day that was bottomless, or fairly close.
They'd obviously left the legs unequipped, because the default underwear was showing. It was combined with a tunic-like vest that barely covered the hips. It looks like somebody wanted attention.

Khajiit thinks they should at least offer the option for sashimono to represent guild, instead of tabards. It is in game already, in MoL , displayed by Shadowguards .



Other mobs use sashimonos as well, particularly in Aetherial Archive. Who could forget the delightful overchargers?



Much better option than tabard for displaying guild loyalty, yes?
