Switch Items between characters without relogging

Hey,

Can we please add a furnishing or assistant to allow us to switch items between characters without relogging?

Items get lost, builds neglected, I have one build I’ve not even min maxed because switching between characters is such a pain, I have 11 other characters who just don’t get played because I can never be bothered to locate all sets.

Surely it would help servers having so many less login attempts as well?

Please help!

Banker and store boxes are for storing items but I still have to relog to put the items in there.

It costs so much time it’s ridiculous.

Then if you forget an item that’s another 4 load screens.

I think the armoury should be able to do this ... When you create a load out those pieces of gear should then be able to be loaded up by any character

technically speaking you do switch characters without relogging, as i consider logging in when you input your username and password

if you are just changing characters, you dont go through that process again, but the game still has to load all of the data of the separate character (and save the data of the current logged in character) which is why there is a process to go back to the character select and load back in

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

I think it would be great if the ESO in-game menu (i.e. the one with settings, controls, log-out, etc.) had a submenu where you could login to another character simply by selecting its name in the submenu. It would be a nice little QoL improvement. It might even make character logout + character login a little bit faster.

There's addons that show what's in your other char's inventorties among other things (elder scrolls of alts and leoalts).

It would probably still take same time to swap, seeing all the data/model/area/texture saving and loading.

Yeah there are a lot of addons I’d like to use but I play on console unfortunately so we have it rough. Can’t even see what my damage is in dungeons.

No. You spend transmute crystals at a transmute station to make copies of the pieces you want.

Would love a “Companion App” similar to Destiny, that helps you micromanage your inventory from your phone.

Our problem is that ESO+ provides a craft bag while the game bloats your inventory intentionally. If inventory management wasn’t something marketed to us, I could see a system like that.

💯 There should be a tab in your inventory with all the gear on all your characters so you don't have to log in and out to get gear from different characters.

I'm thinking it would add stress to the servers as the servers would have to somehow have all your other characters inventory and make it always available?
Some of my characters share PvP gear. I make sure I deposit that gear in the bank before logging out. Having to chase down where a set was a few times when I forgot pretty much enforced the idea into my head to make visiting the banker the last thing I do before getting off a character.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

I do that too and make copies of gear.

I don't work for ZOS so I'm not going to make guesses about what they can do. I'm just a player with a lot of alts so I know what the OP suggests would be a huge QoL improvement if ZOS can get it to work.

I hope this isn't considered too off-topic, but: I need to create updated training gear for my 7 new crafting alts soon, as they're still leveling up. I was creating the same gear for all of them, i.e. basically creating the same item 7 times. From what you said, I have an alternative approach: create 1 set of gear, then use 50 transmute crystals per gear item to copy it for each other alt that needs it, is that correct? I've never actually used transmute crystals, so I'm not familiar with that feature.

Only found set items (the ones in the sticker book) can have copies made with transmute stones and pretty sure that they would still need to be improved as desired. Their cost in transmute stones goes down based on how many pieces of the set have been found.

Crafted gear, on the other hand, has to be crafted.

I could see the functionality working like... Rather than being able to access any character's inventory, it might be possible to add into the Armorer where it will equip the items from the bank or even another character's inventory or equip slots. That would be convenient, especially when you're trying to find something that you haven't used in a while but is in one of your armorer quick slots.

But otherwise this just seems like expanding your inventory space based on the inventory limits of all your combined characters, which is kinda ridiculous. I do think inventory needs some kind of increase or update at some point in the future, but it's nowhere near the top of my list of things I'd want to see.

On pc you have the inventory insight mod who let you see items on alts. You still need to relog but you don't have to go trough all your alts looking for an item.

Oh thanks for letting me know! But no thanks, I didn't came here for asking changes about Fallout 76 you know.

However, I came here to point out how absurd this idea for ESO was by giving an example where they cloned Craft Bag as Scrapbox which is the closest to compare.

You would, I assume this is about getting an item from another character to current.
I say this would be pretty convoluted but possible. An simpler option might be to not reload the zone then swapping characters if they are in the same area, say Vivec city.

I think single character armory slots are a rip-off. When you have 18-20 characters and actually use a lot of them, there needs to be some option for account wide slots.

As for my gear, I make a fresh set for each character that uses it rather than having them share it.

Wait... You're sharing item sets between characters?

    You refarm them?

Literally what the transmute system is for... Make the set with the traits that fit that character's class, even if it's the same set a different trait might be better for your other characters? This is literally a non-issue because the transmute system allows you to effortlessly make full sets... surely you're not so starved on your daily random dungeons/pvp/tales of tribute/etc that you can't afford to do that? all 20 of my characters use unique item sets made for them.

I can’t afford to do that. It’s expensive, I don’t like wasting time farming sets, so I have what I need and collection is low.

I wouldn’t want duplicates on multiple characters anyway as it is a waste of slots, also I usually just want to experiment with a build that works on one character with another and perhaps if it’s a really strong set get another.

But this is a lot of effort and very time consuming when we could easily switch the items between the characters.

The bizarre thing about the responses to my post is that people are seemingly arguing against the new feature I am trying to get added, which I find beyond insane as I am literally trying to save myself and everyone else time here. The argument being, I can waste time recreating and farming transmute crystals so why would I want the added option of switching between characters? 🤯
