Divine Leap NPC Ability for Templar?

Divine Leap is an AoE attack by Warpriest npcs. The Warpriest leaps high up in the air and crashes down with great force, stunning and injuring anyone who is within the AoE. This attack can be avoided by either moving or dodging out of area.

The above ability is used in the game for many NPCs. Maybe it could be applied to one of the Templar spear abilities to give it a nice refreshing update on stale abilities?

What do you think? @ZOS_MattFiror @Gilliamtherogue

I'm still salty that DKs can't get the flaming blink strike style attack that we've seen NPCs do since basegame (like Sees-All-Colors). The Templar version you're referencing has only been used since Morrowind DLC. I also know there are a lot of Warden mains who are quite annoyed they don't have the claw strike we've seen on some Morrowind NPCs as well, and there's also the fact that NPC NBs can use the old version of Agony that got removed a while back.

I think we just have to live with the fact that there are NPC abilities we can't have. I'd love some of them, but that would mean taking a skill away that exists, and you'd also really make people salty if you changed it for one of those classes and not the others.

When that attack was first shown (I believe in Wrothgar) many people wanted it as a replacement for Templar Spear Charge.

Not sure how they would handle the first person perspective with your character 100m in the air, but 3rd person would be easy enough.

It's game breaking. I remember when DKs could fly from the 2nd floor edge of the keep into the inner 2nd floor edge of the keep.

I main a kahjiit templar and I agree that we need more spells like divine leap. With that ability my character will be unstoppable and be destroying massive armies of monsters all at once.

Better animations with more acrobatics with melee based abilities will be awesome in my opinion.

    Yes please.

Well it really depends on how it's exactly coded. The actual skill would be no more than a teleport like Ambush, or the new Mist Form. But it would have the animation of a leap up and vanish, move to new spot, then reappear and pound the ground.

Your character technically could be made to never really leave the ground if you code it correctly. I know that's a big "if" considering the history of charges and teleport in this game as being the buggiest, most unreliable versions of any other game I've played.

You still can (kind of) in Imperial City, BGs, and some keeps with Dragon Leap. But its typically from the 1st floor to an enemy on the 2nd floor

As for OP's suggestion, it would probably only be effective in PVE as the attack appears on the ground for you to avoid.
