Greetings,

After removing some unnecessary back and forth from this thread, we would like everyone to keep posts on the subject at hand, civil, and constructive.

If there may be any questions in regards to the rules, please feel free to review them here

When I see this kind of message by ZOS moderators is start to boil.

The rules you refer to, are only made to protect yourselves not the customer.
We live in a democraty where opinions and ideas matters. (I agree they must be civil, constructive can't be , we are not the support to fix this problem)
Once you start to filter opinions, you become part of a dictatorship and we all know where this leads to.

Your communication towards the customer in here is denigrated and proves we have no voice at all.

Uh, the "back and forth" they are referring to is when two forum posters start engaging in responses to each other in a way that becomes distracting and often rather heated-- in other words, "going after" each other and derailing the thread. Threads should be able to discuss topics about the game without devolving into "Come watch PosterX and PosterY fight, everybody grab your popcorn and let's see which one of them can rack up the most 'Agree' responses."

Not to mention.... This is a private forum provided by ZOS. We are allowed to post, according to their regulations. And should people fail to adhere to the stated regulations, they may decide to close the forum entirely, leaving all of us without any means to try to obtain ZOS's attention.

There IS NO "free speech" on a private forum. This forum and ZOS are not a democracy, and not part of any given government which may promote free speech in government venues.

This whole thing at this point is an Agree farm. I'm just playing another game at this point until it fixes itself by free ESO+ ending.

Everyone is entitled to their private property. This is ZOS's and they use their own property how they see fit. I personally don't do see areas that I think could use improvement when it comes to moderation, if I were in charge. But, I am not. While we are using their property, we must abide by their rules.

The forums being shut down is a very unlikely scenario, because it would be a public relations disaster.

The mods are not responsible for game problems, player frustrations, or the weather.
They don't have to speak for the company, or communicate the company's intent.
They have one job, keep the forums civil.
They have a hard enough job, and definitely don't get paid enough to read/moderate forum entitlement bs.
In the end the majority of what is on these forums is entitlement bs, top to bottom.
There is a reason social media forum moderators have a high turnover rate and high incidence of needing medical help later:
    the abuse from customers.
Also applies to most workers in the service industries.

Not really. All they would need to do is exactly what bethsoft did: close the forums and migrate to damned discord. That would mean I'd never have any info from ZOS again; I DESPISE stuff like discord.

I hate discord too. It's not a forum software. It's basically Whatsapp but without privacy and is made for 12 year olds. It's a mass texting software that's very disorganized, hard to find stuff, and toxic. I personally dispise social media because of how overwhelming it is. 😅

I'm okay with this forum and one I run myself for very good friends of many years. Otherwise, I don't DO social media. Not my idea of where I want to spend time.

The only reason I'm here is for info about the game....

I strongly like and prefer the forums. I love the fact that they are set up professionally, very clean and organized, really good formatting, basically the whole set up and that I can format my post without limits. I can easily find exactly what I'm looking for. I love being part of these forums. I use them for information, sharing my ideas/suggestions/feedback, submitting bugs, and interacting with the forum community.

I like the fact that eso has forums or else I wouldn't be here and playing the game. These forums are perfect for me. I'm glad you like the forums too.

I give up: you win. You seem to be making a point of posting rebuttals to everything I post recently. Are you normally this argumentative, or do you just dislike me for some reason?

Well.... I'd like them better if they were on a better, more customizable, more secure backend - like phpBB3....

I like the fact that this thread has completely delrailed and is now talking about forums instead of the original topic about moderators deleting posts about queues.

Eh, it's kind of the same thing though. If the forum backend was a better option, the moderators could do a better job of their jobs.

Which yes, is just my opinion.

Pretty much this. The fact they did not close down the thread or delete the thread entirely proves they are not taking away our voice.

However, I will point out, this is a private forum and the rules are as Zenimax chooses the rules to be. There are no constitutional rights to free speech in a private forum.

My friend, this is a privately owned gaming forum, not a town hall meeting or a debate on the balancing act of free speech and the responsibilities that come with it. They can close down your forum account and block whatever they feel like. Change the rules if they want to without notice. It's their forum.

It's a frustrating situation to be in when you can't play the game you paid for, but it is not a grave injustice, nobody is in danger or dying or losing their rights and freedoms here.

    Perspective.

Huh. Well, I didn't really pay any attention to who was posting. I just tend to point out stuff I know from playing games since.... um.... 1985 (LONG before online games of the sort I was interested in), and stuff I also know from dealing with forums online since - hmm - well, BGI (LONG time back now).

I'm sorry if you thought I was targeting you. I really don't pay much attention to "who" posts. I just look at substance....

    @ZOS_Icy

Actually, the OP itself made no mention of which posts were being filtered-- that detail was only provided by the thread title.

What the OP actually spoke about in the post is what many of the replies have been commenting on. The quoted passage about "removing some unnecessary back and forth" represents the mods trying to douse flames when two or more posters start getting too heated over a thread's topic and begin insulting or baiting each other instead of focusing on the topic of the thread and discussing it in a civil manner.

The posters who found their messages trimmed or outright deleted may even have been trying to discuss the topic-- although if their entire message got deleted then it was probably all or mostly off-topic and essentially baiting or insulting in nature.

The OP's first sentence after the quote makes me suspect that they had some of their messages trimmed or deleted due to having become overly heated about the topic mentioned in the thread's title (long queues): "When I see this kind of message by ZOS moderators is start to boil." [emphasis added] Human beings are emotional creatures, and it is all too easy for many of us (myself included) to get overly worked up and angry over things. And when we do, we may speak or act in ways that are... unhelpful, to say the least.

We should be able to discuss topics without going into nuclear meltdowns, or trading insults with posters who say something we disagree with, or ranting about the employees of the game studio, etc. When the mods trim or delete "unnecessary back and forth," they are trying to keep the discussions clean and on-track by removing any insults, baiting, bashing, or otherwise inflammatory comments which do more to hurt the discussion than to help it.
