Whats the Point of Tatts and Skins

I'm sure there is a discussion about this somewhere; but it has dawned on me.. ESO offers all these cool Tatts and Skins but no Craftable Motifs That show them off. Or show them off very well. They make a big deal about them being purchasable and reward items. But its hidden for no one to see unless you run around naked or in the awful Nordic bath towel.

There are a few motifs that do show them well: Sai Sahan chest, Crimson Oath, Mazzatun, Dead Water to name a few. There's not many, and you are very limited to certain styles, most of these being argoninan themed.

That's where you get limited. What would you be wearing on your legs that would show, but not be a skirt? Shorts don't exist in this universe.

elder argonian, and zero legion vigiles guards are shorts.

deadlands gladiator and elder argonian are still skirts. I missed zero legion because I don't have that one, it appears to be the only occurance of shorts, but is covered by even MORE hip flaps than usual.

You can preview every outfit style in game under collections and then outfit styles.
The ones you have not collect are greyed out, but you can still activate them to get a preview on your character.

If you fancy something, just look up which trader has the cheapest offer on the corresponding motif page and buy it.

Tres simple.

In Vampire films they have used a make up to cover their white skin, let us Vampires do that too, so we can wear the fancy skins / tattoo's too.

deadlands gladiator guards isn't a skirt, breeches is though.
but yea i made a mistake i was thinking of elder argonian breeches instead of guards.

There are loads of motifs, styles and costumes that shows them? Like I can think of dozens.

Also, sometimes less is more. Having some body marking peek out at a little exposed skin can be quite effectful.

I wish we had more options of motif to show off skins and tats. Some of the ones we do get are ruined by bad hip flaps.

I use the Do'Krin Ascetic's Henna skin a lot ever since I got it. It's great to hide my vampiric tendencies and it also looks really good on a lot of my characters. Most skins are too flashy for me. This one is subtle enough but still pretty unique.

I also use the new Cathay Baandari head and body markings a lot. I only wish the textures of markings and skins where not so stretched out and blurry on some races. Despite it clearly being a khajiiti cosmetic, there are many blurry parts that looks quite bad. Faces and tails of beast races often get the short end of the stick went it comes to this. For a skin released in 2023 I expected more HQ graphics.

Here are a few more options for showing tats/skins well that didn't get mentioned. Any options mentioned as shirtless for men have a bra for females-

-Fanged Lair Chests, shirtless with some armor

-Respectively, Fanged Worm is basically the same as Fanged Lair with slight variations, but comes from battlegrounds instead.

-Barbaric Style

-Deadlands Gladiator shows stomach/arms

- Mazzatun is pretty much shirtless on males

-Wayward guardian- light version shows off arms nicely, has some openings on back/sides that partially show too

-Waking Flame shows off arms/stomach/back

-Crimson Oath is shirtless on males

-Dead Water shows a considerable amount of skin

- Stags of Z'en shows arms and some stomach

-Draugr is pretty much shirtless with some chest covered

- Black Drake Clanwrap is very nice shirtless/revealing option , but expensive because it came from an event
