Logging on with epic games doesn't retain user settings

When my son logs on with epic games, the settings are are not retained at the next logon. each logon you have to have to acccept the eula wait for the shader cache to be built etc. its so painful. When the game is launched, I noticed a folder is created with in the client directory, named with random characters, and the normal addons folder and usersettings.ini file etc is in this created folder. but the client never seems to reuse them. I would be grateful if someone could help.

Before launching ESO through Epic, you may need to set the usersettings.ini file to read-only in order to stop the settings from getting reset.
