Should you always slot a burst heal?

So I am wondering if anyone still uses only rally as their burst heal? I’m debating if it’s worth dropping a burst heal for major evasion. Mainly for stamplar and stam necro. Running medium armor with high weapon damage and good critical chance.

Don’t know about necro but on stamplar I don’t run a burst heal. IMO it’s more optimal in solo play if the following conditions are met:

(1) the skill you replace it with is high impact (whatever that means for your particular build)

(2) you play very efficiently (very few wasted globals, good positioning & timing)

I’ll add that you probably want to run mistform if you want to play this way on plar.

Necro's burst heal, Resistant Flesh, is probably a top 3 burst heal in the game. It's incredibly strong, and even on a stam necro, I highly suggest slotting it/finding the sustain to slot it.

I never thought it was possible to succeed without a burst heal until I discovered impervious Rune ward.

FYI I don't think Rally is a good burst heal.
I much prefer forward momentum for the higher uptime on major brutality and the CC immunity.

Rally is a pseudo burst heal. It is unreliable.
You should have a burst heal slotted on all pvp builds. As a templar I would suggest using honor the dead. Rally was ok on stamplar when jabs gave savagery, but now that jabs gives brutality and sorcery it (rally) is less useful.

Impervious Runeward is effectively a burst heal and with crux one of the best defensive skills in the game.

And yeah Rally is not a great heal anymore, since hybridization even stam chars can get way better burst heals.

You can play templar without honor the dead, but only if you use like every other defensive ability the templar class provides: obviously rune focus and extended ritual. But you also need living dark, otherwise you are too squishy, and vigor as strong heal over time. With all of them together, you can play stamplar without honor the dead, but you have to play wisely and cautiously, since you wont be healing from 20% to 100% in one instant.

So far it is working pretty good. I’m running around with 8k-9k spell damage though, and my rally heals are strong. I’ve had 20k crits with it. Seems this playstyle only works with necro and Templar though because you need a cleanse to allow your heals to do work.

Because htd has mag return when you lose it at low hp
Breath of life has a weak secondary heal that's not worth using.

I get away with mender, vigor, and uh...forget name...the healing tether on Necro. This is with an oaken build. It has enough healing to not need a burst heal, tho it will fall over to star venom if someone happens to run snake
