A question about Meta DPS enchantments for the ESO veterans

Hello all,

I'm currently playing a Stamblade as my main and running a popular solo build. The typical recommended weapon enchantment for daggers is fire and poison, however, I notice that the damage for these enchantments is way at the bottom of the list of my overall DPS breakdown (using CombatMetrics addon) - sometimes doing less than 1% of the damage. Would adding spell/weapon damage not provide a better boost to DPS over these elemental enchantments? Or, maybe a combination of Weapon Damage and a weapon poison? I know that weapon poisons are rather weak in ESO, which is a shame, but considering the low damage I gain from the fire/poison enchantments I don't know that it would be any worse.

I wish there was a Raid Bots available for ESO that would allow us to experiment in a simulation environment.

Thank you.

The main reason for fire and poison is to proc the burning and poisoned status effects, two fairly strong DoTs that can add up to a reasonable chunk of your DPS.

Weapon damage enchantment is typically run on the backbar anyways so no point in having it on the front bar.

I want to add here that berserker enchant on a 1h is a bad idea as the overall amount of weapon/spell damage gained is halved I believe, compared to 2-slot weapons.

    that is correct

and to the OP, they do have "simulation" stuff, its called targeting dummies in houses (from low tier 300k hp dummies, up to the 21 mil hp trial dummy with all the buffs and debuffs)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

But based on my own data, the poison and fire procs are barely contributing to my damage, as I mentioned in my original post. Perhaps those enchantments add up to more than what the weapon damage would yield in the 5 seconds of it's proc

Yes, I'm aware of the target dummies. The website I mentioned is far more involved than that. It takes all of your skills, passives, gear, etc and runs multiple scenarios to help you see which combination would yield the highest/most efficient DPS. It even allows you to apply different enchantments to your weapons to see how they affect your damage.

Generally those two enchants are for the status effects. Are you running a backbar? You could run a destro staff with blockade, 2hander with stampede, or bow with volley with an infused weapon and a berserker enchant to get the most weapon damage.

The amounts you're describing for these enchantments seems low, but without any more details on your build and rotation it's hard to diagnose why that would be. You might have low light attacks and no weapon abilities that proc the enchants, for example.
There aren't any damage enchantments that will yield more damage than these two. These ones will also add status effect damage that will be listed separately in cmx.
Weapon damage glyphs won't stack so as others have said, if you're using a back bar weapon with the appropriate skills, you can have a full strength version of that buff with very high uptime. If you are only using a single dw bar, then it might make more sense to put one on. Again, though, there's not enough information about your setup to answer this.

Also, Vampires and Werewolves take increased damage from fire and poison respectively. With as many Vampires as are running around, the fire is definitely necessary. But getting to proc those status effects can help your overall dps.

If you are playing solo shock and stamina glyph might well offer more dps thorugh their status procs, but as soon as you join a group that benefit is likely lost, as mbreach and mvuln are mostly already present. That is where fire and poison shine, as you can stack one instance per player on the target, so those are optimal in a group scenario or when you already have access to the other two.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

I'm currently running the solo build by Lucky Ghost. I currently have Pillar of Nirn daggers with nirnhoned and charged traits - fire and poison enchants. The gear is a mixture of PoN, Venomous Smite, Stormfist, and Maelstrom greatsword (with Weapon Damage enchant - on the backbar). My Champion points are buffing light attacks, DoTs, weapon and spell damage, etc. i also have Mighty. I haven't gotten to the point of unlocking War Mage yet, which I'm led to believe also impacts enchantments? The damage I'm referring to being low is listed as "burning" and "poisoned", which I believe is the DoT status effect in CMX. I'll have to confirm once I get back in game.
