What does Draugrkin's Grip boost?

The Draugrkin's Grip benefit reads:

Increases your damage done by 330 but reduces your healing taken by 10%.

So it isn't officially described as a proc.

What damage does it actually boost?
  • Surely every parcel of damage from your skills and basic attacks, on every target hit. Correct?
  • How about basic pet attacks, from toggled sorcerer or warden pets?
  • How about status effect damage, initial hit or all ticks (burning, poisoned) as the case may be?
  • How about damage from procs of various kinds (enchantments, set bonuses, passive skills ...)?
  • Any other category I should be asking about?

Thanks!

Everything you listed included and more, pets, procs, any tick of status effect, alchemical poisons, light and heavy attack ticks, retaliation damage like from volatile armor or cutting defense cp.

What it does not boost is companion damage and % based damage, like all oblivion damage or radiant bastion set.

    Awesome. Thanks!

And can it crit just like the damage it's boosting?

It adds to the damage that gets boosted. So as long as that damage can crit, it should be able to.

The last question would be if there are any sets it doesn't boost, but it probably works with them like it does with skills.

It benefits from crit and execute modifiers, should not benefit from berserker, sorcery, brutality.
This might help to understand it better: this bonus is added to tooltip damage at the very end, but everything that comes after that works.

The fact that is boosts, well, everything leads to some funky interactions.

For instance, Force Shock (and morphs) tripple dips into the damage bonus, since each elemental type; Fire, Frost, and Shock get +330 each.
I think it is central to ESO's well-being to critique the developers when they change the game (or fail to change something).
But the negativity can be exhausting, so I vow to post 50/50 negativity and appreciation.

Yep. That's the kind of thing I was thinking of.

And if you use Force Shock with a Charged staff, you should get even more parcels of damage.

The new inferno staff passive should not, as I read things, increase the number of Draugrkin ticks directly. But the passive does contribute to the idea that Charged inferno staff/Draugrkin's Grip/Force Shock could be a build niche.

The Force Pulse/Draugrkin's Grip combo might also look good for ice wardens.

My understanding is basically any instance of damage receives the flat damage increase.

It is also my understanding of the set that it works best with builds that utilize multiple sources of damage that have a high tick rate (1 tick of damage / second or more).

    Greetings,

This thread has been moved to the Combat & Character Mechanics section, as it is better suited there.

    Thank you for your understanding.

My shocking Siphon from necro get 33k dps from 18k if i use draugrkin, cause it have 0.5 sec tick rate, more good results can get fatecarver, cause it have 0.3 sec ticks, it's mean, it is that the more often you deal various damage
and damage ticks occur at a more frequent interval , the better the potential of the draugrkin will be realized

How does a less than 700 increase in tooltip value turn into a 15K increase in DPS?

Max crit damage on 100% crit rate would only get one up to a 1500ish figure.

man, well, logically, you can reason that we are talking about the entire time of the action, and not per tick :/

It boosts everything by a flat amount. Any buffs are applied after the fact. This means it can almost compete with BiS setups in certain builds.

It is exceptionally powerful on DoT builds or builds that have a lot of status effect procs. Necromancer, Arcanist, DK and Warden’s that go full Chill proc Ice Mage can make best use of this set.

I actually made a PvP “Witch” build with this set as I used it to maximise the Vampire Drain skill. I can get 7k per tick on Crit with the skill which makes it actually threatening in PvP.

In fact the Necro and Arcanist can get immense value as they have DoT’s that proc every 0.5 seconds. Essentially doubling its value on those abilities.

It also boosts Star Venom meaning it quadruples it value when that set procs.

Just a quick correction because I'm a nerd:

Necro's tethers used to tick every 0.3 seconds, but were nerfed to tick every 0.6 seconds. Totally most definitely coincidentally, Arcanist was given Beam and Carpet, which tick every 0.3 seconds, and their ulti, which ticks every 0.5 seconds.

Ahh. So by "DPS" you mean "Damage per 20 seconds", but the "20" is silent?

It works because it’s not percentage based. I will double check but I’m pretty sure it does.
