*** Environmental damage spam and abuse on flat surfaces taken while walking in Battlegrounds ***

So it seems some people have identified and are abusing the hell of environmental damage on flat surfaces in some battlegrounds.
For example in 4 of the 5 screenshots I provided, that player "Davaya" seems to know exactly what he is doing. He killed me at least 6 times in that bg with "environmental damage".
Well as 100% melee... I have to pass through him to grab the relics.
It is not fun or is it by design to be hit by 27K damage on flat surfaces repeatedly ?
