option to disable Darloc Brae 1st person visuals

sgraybillb14_ESO
Is there an option in this game yet to disable 1st person visuals if I want to? Darloc Brae is the set I want to use but the twinkles are game breaking. 1st person doesn't affect anyone but me, so can I have the option?

I'd be happy if they remove it completely or at least replace it with something more subtle.

I use it on a couple of characters. It doesn't bother my eyes or anything, I just think things like that are annoying overall.

What I did is use a darloc brae weapon so that I can toggle the sparkles by swapping bars.

I don't think there is that option.

If the visuals of this set are game breaking for you, I recommend you stop playing this game.

There's so much else to spend development time on though, rather than the small subset of people who play in 1st person AND use 5 pieces of Darloc AND get annoyed at the sparkles.

Multi-coloured sparkles does seem an unusual choice for a stealth set though 🤔

That's what I thought the very first time I equipped 5 pieces and found myself in FP because too close to a wall. It was like "WHAT in the hell are all those weird colored spots??"

The couple of girls I have in that set aren't playing in FP so it's okay (actually, I never play in FP because it makes my vertigo VERY unhappy).

It's not just this set. There are lots of first person visuals that cause issues, many of which are combat based and leave you all but blind.

It would be nice if this was adjusted or there was a "reduce passive first person visuals" setting.

But I want to say that the 5th piece of this set is a trap. The better thief build is only 4 pieces Darloc Brae, 5 pieces Night Mother's Embrace, and 3 pieces Night Terror. This gives you 3 stealth radius improvements.

You don't need the resources from Darloc Brae's fifth bonus for sneaking at all. If it's for invis, 3 magicka recovery enchants and the atronach stone should be enough.

Yeah, because one visual effect out of hundreds is totally essential for the game and there can't be done anything about it.

Exactly. I personally find it a bit weird that the game offers both 1st and 3rd person view (I'm also quite sure that before launch, they made clear in several interviews/announcements that ESO will have a 1st person option of course - probably to please players of the TES single player games of whom many play in 1st person view), but then many aspects seem to be released without testing beforehand whether they actually work well in 1st person. Latest problem were the floating Arcanist triangles, afaik. For the future, I'd hope for more thorough testing or at least for the option to disable these visuals. Can't be that hard.

I've never used Darloc, but I know damn well that most visual effects for buffs/debuffs in 1st person did nothing to inform me, and everything to annoy me when I used to play in 1st person habitually. They're almost always consistently bright, regardless of the environment around you, making it like getting flashbanged when they proc in a dark area, the the sparkly ones have an almost 2002 morrowind-esq level of quality to them, and a whole lot of them are just different colored heavy gradients on the edges of the screen that... just don't convey anything about what's happening to you unless you're a studied scholar on ESO combat mechanics and effects, in which case you already knew what was happening anyways, regardless of the intrusive, unhelpful 1st person VFX

I play mostly in third person, so I can see red and stay out of it. However, I always play in first person view when stealing and pickpocketing. I use the DB set for the 4th piece bonus of detection radius reduction, but absolutely will not equip the 5th piece because of the annoying bubbles/sparkles on the borders of my screen. It's fine in third person view. But I agree, there should be options.

It's REALLY annoying with the movement of all the colored sparkles. As I said earlier, I don't have eye issues, and I'm seldom in FP, but the couple of times I've been up against a wall or something and get forced into FP, the movement plus all the colored sparks makes me want to slap them all away. The upshot is I just only use 4 Darloc now when I want to equip that set.

It's a lot worse in motion.
