Can you please for the love of God don't make entire weekends of Capture the Relic. it's a horrible game.
I wont be doing Battlegrounds this weekend because of it.
It is, without a doubt, the most poorly designed PvP gamemode I've ever had the displeasure of playing. There is absolutely no reason someone should be able to build an omegalul tank and spam the pickup button until the game bugs out or someone gets bored of interrupting. There's no reason you should be able to move at max movespeed holding the relic. There's no reason you should be able to instantly capture the relic, even if enemies are surrounding your home base. The gamemode is a hot mess that either lasts less than 2 minutes or turns into a DM because no one can be bothered playing this trash mode.
News flash ZOS: Capture the Flag doesn't work with 3 teams and 3 relics. The mode needs to be completely redone, because in the current form all it does is breed cheesy and toxic tactics that are unfun for every party involved.

I was playing last night on Xbox NA, and this one blocking tank sitting on the relic would whisper “Go away” repeatedly at me as I tried to take his team’s relic. I have to admit I found it pretty hilarious.
Definitely agree with others this is not my favorite game mode, and in fact, the themed weekends make battlegrounds worse because people bring out their cookie cutter build for whatever game is designated.
When the game modes are assigned randomly, it provides incentive for people to use the more balance/utility builds, and leads to more interesting combat, in my opinion.
The number of people using masters dw/vatesh backbar has become absurd. Multiple streams of Wrath of Elements firing, Rending Slashes… again, again, again…
Just for laughs, I took my (essentially) immortal Warden tank into a Capture the Relic game. For context, this tank requires maybe ten or more people to kill in Cyro, and that’s just happening in a BG. So I basically operated with absolute impunity.
Any time there’s an objective that requires killing someone holding a thing, it’ll never work in any game with builds that can survive everything up to a tactical nuke.
A bit off topic, but when the battleground overviews were mentioned it reminded me... I've always found the position that healers are in to be interesting.
They(and what they bring to the team) can be 100% game changing, and can turn the tide of a game - yet their heals don't count towards assists.
Or I think of people doing WBs in PVE land - where they clearly won't be top damage and so rarely get loot if it's a very populated WB or kill. IIR, the IC bosses act the same.
It’s funny, I keep battlegrounds interesting by trying to both win the game objectively, and also keeping a good solid kill death ratio. Love it when I manage to pull off both.
But sometimes I get on a team with three NBs (on my Magsorc) and I have learned that in the situation I am completely on my own, I will have no help trying to win the objectives, and may as well just treat it like a Deathmatch doing my best to cover my own skin while the three NBs disappear and gank.
I actually followed one around for a while, hoping we could get behind the whole teamwork/combat idea, and he whispered for me to get the F away from him. 😁
