I was just looking at why Seventh Legion isn't used anymore. It was once a meta set in PvP, but has long been superseded. I think it would be more viable with two small changes:
- Swap the health regen and crit bonuses around (3rd and 4th bonus). This would make it more viable as a back bar set. People care about damage on their front bar. The health regen being the 3rd bonus instead of the 4th lets it down.
- AFAIK the set currently only activates when the 15s timer has run out. Unlike Powerful Assault, the Seventh Legion timer cannot be refreshed before that. This is inflexible and results in downtime or micro-management. Therefore make it so the buff can be refreshed before it runs out.
I wanted to highlight the subtle reasons why an armor set fails or falls into disuse, and the hopefully uncontroversial way in which it could be improved. This is not to make the set meta or especially attractive, only to provide hopefully uncontroversial steps in the right direction.
Can you think of other sets, PvP or PvE, that would benefit from such treatment?
