So ESO has been out for almost 10 years now, and since then they've added the ability to change race, gender, name and even Alliance...yet to this day still no way to change your class. In SWTOR that was because your class determined what story you got, but eventually they added the ability to change your class [in a manner of speaking, you basically stay Melee or Ranged] but ESO never seemed to add that feature. When ESO launched Zenimax said "No new classes would ever be added" the classes you got were the classes you got and if you wanted to play another then make another toon.
Then we got Warden and instead of being able to swap to it we got "Congrats we have a new class you can play now! But you have to make a new toon from scratch to play it". Then we got Necromancer, same deal and now Arcanist..same deal.
Has ZOS ever issued an official "reason" why changing class has never been added? I know it can lead to "Flavor of the Month" type situations in PvP [I remember in SWG everyone would play the same class after an update then swap to another when it was fixed]. But surely they could add a crown number to it [Like 3500] and/or add a 30 day period where you can't change again.
Personally I just don't see why not, but I'm also not a developer, maybe a character changing class would break some code somewhere and cause bugs.
Heck, maybe even have it be rare like make it a once time use token tied to the anniversary event then not available again till next year
