Companion follower position menu and interaction keybind

Can we get a menu for companions to detail to them what distances we want them to be during combat and out of combat?
In skyrim there was mod that allows you to set your followers distances in and out of combat, should be easy to do with ESO.

I'd like a companion menu: Guidelines. In that i'd like commentary, combat and non combat rules. Commentary you can set for active comments on your actions, noticing nodes, going to nodes that interest them, interest in various things that give report or reduce report. In Combat menu I'd like to see rules on combat position: stay close to me, be some distance but stay in range, stay far from me, or do your own thing. In non combat menu set rules for distance: be close in case i need you, give me space, stay far back unless i come to you, let me loot and fish in peace.

Since companion cannot draw agro while not in combat its best to give them some out of the way activities while you do your own thing. like if your fishing, have you companion pick a out of the way spot and cast a pole as well. (no catching though). If looting let him stay back and only comment if you missed something, if sneaking, have him frog leap with you, taking cover behind obstacles and stuff like good sneaks do.

Basically, don't have the companion be in the way.

Also, I'd like to see a keybind setup for interacting with companions that can be different from interaction with the environment.

I'm certainly sick of my followers getting in my way when I try to loot chests and corpses, or trying to read a book or jump, etc. Being able to set a 'personal zone' for yourself that they need to stay out of would be great.

I agree. They stay too close and create issues. Trying to do puzzles can be aggravating with a companion up your behind. Look into it zos. Cheers.

Fallout has a simple interface to set distance and aggression. That would be so nice in this game.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Whilst I love the fact that Sharp has a crouch position for variety, he is too close behind my characters when fishing.

agreed, having him hilariously stick his head into my toons rear in a mockery of centaur is quite funny but also very annoying.

Yup. The number of times I've entered dialogue with my companon when I actually wanted to read a lorebook is ridiculous.

Well, those on PC can use "no interact" to resolve the problem. Just be sure to use the individual option to disable interaction with them, and not just the global 'on/off' option, which doesn't work with all companions.

Best option would be a "hold E" or "hold A" to interact with companion that could pop up simultaneously to any other prompt. That way tapping E or A would always interact with environmental objects and only holding the button would interact with companion.

I would like to see the option to command companion positioning similar to what can be done with pets like sorc or warden
