Antiquities from Treasure Maps: A plea...

Please can all Antiquity Leads that come from Treasure MAPS also be made to come from Treasure CHESTS in the zone?

Even if they are rarer from treasure chests than maps. Say, 1/4 chance for a chest from a Treasure Map or 1/20 chance from unlocking a Treasure Chest.

The whole madness of rolling for treasure MAPS, which are already insanely rare as it is, is just insane.

    agreed, or the treasure map ones should be ANY zones treasure maps (though that could have unintended effect of diluting the lead pool and making it almost worse than it is now)

    or the leads from the treasure maps should be much much higher and preferably curated to items you dont have codex entries for with how many RNG layers there are

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    i gotta agree with everything youve said in your og post here but damn are some leads hard to get in the first place bc the chance of getting any map associated with it so low to begin with. like im trying to get one of the ancestral orc motifs from Stros M'Kai but that zone legit only has 2 maps! not only is getting a treasure map in my loot not a guarantee but also getting the correct treasure map and then getting the correct lead out of 2 from the treasure map. ive already got the other motif lead scried so i cant get it another time but doesnt disappear after 30 days so i can try and force the game into giving me the lead i want.

    id much rather pick a corner of the island and set up a route to farm chests for the lead rather than either hoping for the chain of chance to hand it to me, spending money on the maps from other players on the chance it gets me the lead, or taking the boring option and just buying the motif from other players

    ive bought motifs from ancestral ones when they are reasonably priced, but there is some problems with this
    1. doesnt complete codex entries
    2. doesnt work on non-motif leads from treasure maps (eldertide shoulders and skin from galen, and the new set of furnishings from telvanni peninsula)

    This is an old complaint. With Galen, I hoped devs were phasing out this dreadful system, as only 2 leads drop from maps, as opposed to 14. Alas, Necrom killed such hopes. If our pleas weren't heard then, I doubt they will be now.

    It's a bad source for leads that should have never been initiated imo. Way too much RNG involved for very little reward. If they had introduced a system to effectively farm maps from specific regions, it would probably solve many of the problems with it.

    I would like for them to also change this! It's discouraging to even want to do any leads which involve treasure maps at this point given what's stacked against you.

    yes please. ugh the treasure maps are so hard to find and even when you get them there's no guarantee you get a lead.

    i am happy i got the cliff strider antiquity, but it was the only one i got from the three collector's edition treasure maps

    Alienating the player base that enjoys collecting doesn't seem like the best way to go about things. With Galen, now even worse necrom. There's a balance between keeping a fish on the line and jerking that hook too hard and breaking it's jaw. Makes future worms not worth biting. Zos is going the wrong way for many. But as said earlier, it's an old argument, the outcry with Galen was not just ignored but had salt ground in it. Zos will do as zos wants. I'm just curious as to how much the collectors of styles, pets, houses, and all the rest, spend in the cash shop, and if this idea of rng stacked on rng is worth upsetting that particular player base.....

    i'll look for those antiquities IF and WHEN they'll do something about the awful treasure-maps-leads system :| i got "zossed" way too much times with ancestral motifs :/

    I think they should properly overhaul the treasure map system before we do that. like, give us a stackable item and then you have to do something with it that allows you to identify which treasure map it is. you could even have 2 different types of such items:
    1. a completely random one that can grant any treasure map in the game.
    2. an item for specific zones that only drops in certain areas and is significantly more difficult to get instead of #1.

    but there also is the problem that the only way to narrow down which lead you get, is to already have the other leads at that moment. means you would need something like 30++ treasure maps of one area within 30 days to get something like the complete Ancestral Akaviri or Ancestral Breton styles. that's just not feasible if you can't stack these maps. no choice but to buy them from other players. so it would be nice if these leads were curated just like set items are.
