Error 303 Disconnects

I'm getting disconnects with Error 303 on login all the time since Necrom launched. This is especially frustrating if I'm with my raid group and get d/c in the middle of the boss fight.
I am on a new network here but everything else works without issues. I even had a "ping www.google.de -t" running while playing and when I got disconnected the pings got through without issues.

Yes I do know about the help article and it didn't help me https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/52702/

What I already tried:
* Restart my router
* Start ESO with or without Steam
* Reset Program Data folder
* Remove UserSettings.txt and let the game create a new one
* Play without ANY AddOns (tried this just now for fun and I was disconnected after 5min)

Can anyone please explain what 303 means technically? And how can I fix this?

    Having the same trouble. Only thing that has helped me is switching servers to EU on the login screen and then switching back to NA, but even then that only work sometimes. ZoS really needs to fix their servers.

    303 means the servers are off-line, down for maintenance, etc. I have had quite a few abrupt server disconnects lately. I have to quit the game, restart, and log back in. I am able to do so, but it is very frustrating. The servers are clearly not off-line as I am able to re-log in. After troubleshooting, I am convinced that the problem is not on my end. Yes, ZoS needs to improve their servers!!

    They need high performance servers that are very efficient and secure.

    My raid teammates are still online, so servers are clearly online.
    So somehow our connections to server are interrupted which causes the clients to think the servers are offline.

    Same here. Since Necrom the servers have been extremely unstable. I did a network stability test during playing, and the problems have nothing to do with my internet connection.

    with "network stability test" I mean running an endless ping to google.com. There were no packets lost during the disconnections, so it's not my internet connection.

    And they will tell me to do all the things I have already done, reboot my router, clear the DNS cache, etc, etc. Just got booted again. Maybe you Bill should take action, forward this issue to your supervisor and customer service, and have it looked into--and fixed. It is obviously an ongoing problem which many people are having and it all points to a persistent flaw with the ZoS PCNA servers.

    After a lot of testing I have come to the conclusion that it HAS TO BE THE ESO SERVERS disconnecting me. Nothing else can be the reason:

    Again, here is what I tried:
    * Restart my router
    * Start ESO with or without Steam
    * Reset Program Data folder
    * Remove UserSettings.txt multiple times
    * Remove all the AddOns
    * Try some Port forwarding or IPv6 Host exposure
    * Add ESO to Anti Virus exception
    * Disable IPv6 in my Windows Network settings
    * Run ESO as administrator

    Whenever I get disconnected, ALL other applications (Discord, YouTube, Netflix) run fine. So it HAS TO BE THE SERVER.

    Therefore I am now requesting you @ZOS_Bill @ZOS_GinaBruno to finally fix this issue. Every patch I eagerly await a fix for this but nothing.
    Maybe I should start posting time and dates of every disconnect in this thread.

    This has also been happening to me. I get disconnected at least once a night, without fail. Just the other evening, I got DC'd during final boss in a vet trial. Error persistes and thus robbed me of my final boss loot. >.<

    PC NA, been happening since Necrom. These constant disconnect are beyond frustrating!

    If any of you is a Ziggo customer, it might be this issue:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/7923059#Comment_7923059

    At least it got fixed for them (and me :) ) after a manual action.

    Ok, interesting to hear that a faulty modem setting might cause the issue. I'm not on Ziggo but Vodafone Germany. There is no update for my modem/router last I checked.
    But as I said, other applications (even video chats) run fine while the disconnect happens.

    I did some testing today and I'm starting to notice a pattern here. This is on PCEU.
    28.08.2023
    18:44 - Error 303
    20:44 - Error 303
    21:44 - Error 303
    22:14 - Error 303
    22:44 - Error 303
    23:14 - Internal Error
    23:44 - Error 303

    31.08.2023
    20:09 - Error 303
    20:39 - Error 303
    21:09 - Internal Error
    00:39 - Error 303

    01.09.2023
    20:40 - Internal Error (repeatedly)
    22:10 - Error 303
    22:40 - Internal Error
    23:10 - Internal Error
    23:40 - Internal Error
    So I get disconnects every half hour. With these specific time and dates listed here the devs can now check the server logs to find out the cause.
    I also tested something else: I started World of Warcraft alongside ESO and connected to the server. I had no disconnect when I got Error 303 in ESO. So it is definitely the fault of ESO Servers. Not my router, not my addons, not my PC.

    In my raid today there were also other players getting disconnected.
    Instead of trying to blame the user and redirecting them to customer support, ZOS needs to finally fix this.
    As Shia LaBeouf once said: "Just DO it!"

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Bill Please fix this stupid disconnect bug for Update 40. I don't want to get disconnected in the middle of an Endless Archive run.
    I got those disconnects now every day I try to play and I get more and more frustrated.

    Another great start for a raid night, another disconnect and all again the "an internal error has occured" messages when I try to login. Maybe I should make one post for every disconnect I get.

    Given that you are also receiving unexpected internal errors, it may be helpful to go through the steps in this article as well. Please let us know how it goes!

    I tried that several times. I repaired, even performed a full reinstall. I started the game with and without Steam and all with the same result.

    Also the 30minute timer indicates a recurring problem and nothing with the game files. If game files were corrupt, the game would disconnect upon character load or zoning and not running the same dungeon/trial again.

    For me the Error 303 and Internal Error are the same. As I wrote above, the server is kicking me and its not on my end.
    I tried repair just now, and got the Internal Error at 21:09. I place my bets on another Error 303 or Internal Error at 21:39.
    Edit: Yep, there was an Error 303 at 21:39 just as I predicted. Where is my Jackpot? :P

    @ZOS_Bill wrote the same in June ;) I did open a ticket in June and just got the usual advice to restart router, etc. I did also open a ticket now but this is nothing that I can fix on my end. And to be honest: I don't feel like I'm being taken seriously. Every time I get the same responses. No one is looking into the server logs.

    The developers need to inspect the net code when it is throwing Error 303 and find out why it is disconnecting me and not my party members. And then increase the timeout for this or whatever it needs to fix this stupid issue. If other games can do this, then ESO should be able to do this as well.

    My raid lead just announced that he wants to kick me out of my trifecta group if I get disconnected when we really try it.
    Then I'll quit ESO+.
