[REQUEST] Give us a sorcerer/mage class that is NOT based on daedric power

I think it is a pitty to have to classes of the arcanic arts that draw their power from daedric sources somewhat. And then we have the necromancers. So basically they get their forces from evil lore-wise.

I would like to have a class that uses more nirn magic. (wardens, dragonknights and templars are a bit too non-mage like)
Sort of elemental sourcerer that uses the elements fire, water/ice, Earth and air in combat and hence more neutral.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Personally, I would fit nightblade, necromancer, templar, AND sorc under this. Only one sorc line focuses on daedric abilities, the rest are pretty wizard-y, making it the typical "mage" choice. DK is a bit more of a "battlemage" archetype—dual wield magDK felt very satisfying and magic to me.

I also like elemental magic, so what you're asking for would be cool! I'd like it as a skill line maybe.

Also, "lore-wise" daedra and necromancy aren't evil, but they're certainly judged by many in Tamriel and often treated like villainous magic. So it's fair to get that vibe, but TES mostly strays away from the "divines vs demons" theme that other games have.

    daedra are not inherently evil.
arcanists and sorcerers are not evil for having daedric magic.

necromancy sure but why is that included in your post as that has nothing to do with daedric power?
    miaow! i'm Luna ( she/her ).

Necromancy is just Mysticism and Conjuration. It's as 'evil' as Destruction. If I remember correctly, the Necromancer in ESO just conjures bones and puts a minor daedric spirit in it.

You're not Mannimarco evil as a Necromancer.

No more classes necessary. They could simply add Hedge Magic as a skill line and/or split up destro staves which I think needs to happen anyway. Adding a Hedge Magic skill line would open up some build options for all classes in the game.
A single target Flame DoT with Bleed Morph,
an AoE Frost DoT with Disease Morph,
a Magic AoE Direct with Physical Morph,
A single target Shock Spammable with Poison Morph,
And finally a utility, tanking or healing spell.
Then finish with a cool Ultimate that has a Disease or Bleed Morph.

These are just examples of course, but by addressing every damage type it would benefit all classes.

Sorc is lightning. Warden is ice. Templar is light. DK is fire. DK also has earth. Warden has plant magic. Sorc has darkness. There's really no element left. Remember every class has a mage/heavy/medium ability.

This used to be sorcerer a long time ago with lightning and dark magic (and destro staff for other elements), but players wanted to have a summoner class and instead of creating a new class based solely on summons (pets), ZOS gutted no-pet sorc over time and forced the class into running pets to be viable.

The mage aspect was why I chose sorcerer as my first class when I started playing in 2015, it was fun to play and the visuals were great. Unfortunately thanks to ZOS constantly forcing more and more of the power budget into the pet related abilities and passives over the past 6 or so years, no pet sorc has since been all but deleted from the game and along with it any semblance of a true mage style class that revolved around arcane sources and not daedric sources.

    For those who are unaware/curious:
What's tied to pets (or the pet skill line)
Healing - tied to matriarch (pet) on summoning skill line
mitigation - shields and bound aegis, daedric summoning skill line
best class DoTs - again its the pets on the summoning skill line
delayed burst - (curse and bound armaments) is on summoning skill line (one morph of curse is dedicated specifically to pets only)
sustain passives - 3/5 of these are on the summoning skill line
DoT ultimate - (atro) typically best for trials/dungeons on summoning skill line
What's not (currently) tied to pets
spammable - frags, dark magic line
mobility - streak/BoL/expedition access, lightning magic line
"burst" ultimate - overload, lightning magic line
HoT - crit surge, lightning magic line
damage passives - lightning magic line
execute - (wrath), lightning magic line
outside of a spammable and an execute (if you can call frags/wrath a spammable/execute), pet sorcs have essentially a full class kit, while no pet sorc has nowhere near enough to make a functional kit despite having double the amount of skills available.
