Necrom is really great

I wanted to write my compliments to the ESO team. As someone who has been bitterly disappointed by the previous chapters, Necrom is truly a breath of fresh air.

It feels like you guys have listened to feedback this time around. The zones look great, there's a solid amount of content, the side quests are awesome, QUEST CHOICES ARE BACK BABY. I've heard the new class is great. I haven't done the MQ yet but I've heard it's good too.

I do have my criticisms here and there, like with the dumb dumb dialogue still being a thing, and of course vestige erasure.

But yeah, huge step in the right direction

It would of been one of my favorites of dolmen look a likes had unquie consumable rewards not just gear

Zone looks amazing but feels more desolate in landscaping. I feel like like item count was lower. Also haven't seen any random skeleton death scenes yet

Overall far superior then likes of blackwood and high isle.

I'm always looking for the little skeleton vignettes, too! I found some skeletons sitting in a kind of lotus pose. One of the skulls had fallen off.

I'm on xbox, and I've been amazed with it so far. The Apocrypha is gorgeous! Especially the vivid color areas. Reminds me of how I felt about the Deadlands when that first came out, but that DLC was too short. Or it seemed to happen really fast. This time, I think I'll be spending some time here. Some have been complaining it's too long. Now the only thing I CAN grumble about is the time it takes getting the companions, especially Azandar. I have to do this with each character now? Eeeesh. But that's probably the only con I've felt about it. I've done his quest twice now and that's taken quite some time for sure. Like I said, I've been playing all this week, and I've only done one zone quest storyline! The rest I've been exploring, doing the Bastion and dailies and trying to get my gold leads.

So, I also appreciate what has gone into this DLC.

Edit for update: Oh, but I forgot I wanted to mention. Is it just this DLC/area that you get stunned the behjaesus out of? or is it just me? lol. Just seemed like every NPC in the Bastion or public dungeons can knock you into left field very easily.

Yep CC is insane in Necrom. CC immunity seems to be out of the window.

Ok, glad to know, it's not just me.

I have been enjoying the new chapter, but haven’t done the story quests yet (I like to wait so there aren’t a bunch of players standing right on top of all the npcs, too immersion-breaking). Just doing the dailies and some fishing in Apocrypha.

The Apocrypha zone is beautiful, I love the density of the flora, I also hope we can get some of the plants for our houses. There are interesting things to discover there too, glad to see that.

Telvanni Peninsula is nice too, Telvanni houses throughout the zone, I love that stacked stone architecture with the cool lighting. The zone should be huge though, almost as large as Vvardenfell, but it seems only about 20-25% as big as it should be. I can ride across it on my mount in little time. Why did we get so little actual content for the area that it should occupy?

EDIT: I typed fauna but meant flora, duh

I’ll be the first to admit that I have a lot of sour feelings to aspects of the game (pvp performance and also the oftentimes sub-par communication to customers mainly), but I’ve been absolutely blown away by necrom. I generally cannot stand pve questing & find it incredibly tedious, but have been doing a tonne for necrom & enjoying the storyline.

I love the visuals: apocrypha is amazingly dense and rich to look at, not just the main landscape but also the delves and areas comprised on endless tomes. Even the adds are excellent (those mind terror creatures are fantastically creepy).

And I really appreciate the fact that the overland content is markedly more challenging. Adds have far more health, more challenging attacks, CC etc. the world events (bastions) feel refreshing too, that you have to pay attention a bit more on the bosses and play out certain mechs helps it from being mindless very quickly.

Whoever is behind this chapter needs a raise & to be given license to work their magic further on future updates. They did a fantastic job giving us something darker & more engaging and I know many others who share the same sentiments as myself.

So kudos to you guys, it is certainly due.

I complain a lot but I concur when it comes to the feel of Apocrypha and the main story and side quests. Most interesting story since Elsweyr for me.

(Also, I replayed Murkmire this past week simply because I really like Sharp-As-Night despite not needing or liking companions enough to regularly use them. It feels like Murkmire is such a forgotten zone while the story is great, in my opinion)

Oh yeah you reminded me about the lurkers, I was fishing and saw one of those crawling around on land nearby and those things really creeped me out.

Story, art, and music are great.

But that’s it, once the story is done there is nothing to do. As a mostly solo player it’s probably the worst chapter, post story, they ever produced.
There is no farmable world events, there is only two (real) dailies and they just drop a mediocre forgettable motif. Even ToT pve dailies are messed up.

And that’s all there will be. For a year.

Been a subscriber since beta, canceled my sub. (But it’s a yearly sub, so canceling is fairly symbolic if there is well over 200 days until it’s really over.)
