A scroll on the run

At the risk of sowing defeatism, has anyone else (in CP-campaign) adopted the strategy of always avoiding Elder Scrolls being moved across Cyrodiil?

Used to be that the whole server would swarm to (re)claim the valuable objective. But these days, more likely than not, it's just a ball group using the scroll to lure in kills, and with no actual intention of returning it to a keep. Going to reclaim the scroll would just be playing right into their AP farm game.

At least they can't run around with Keeps on their backs, so those are worth sieging, still.
I think it is central to ESO's well-being to critique the developers when they change the game (or fail to change something).
But the negativity can be exhausting, so I vow to post 50/50 negativity and appreciation.

Scroll trolling is super annoying, and is downright horrible sportsmanship when a faction trolls with their own factions scroll.

After a while you learn to spot the names of the trolls that pick it up so you just leave it to do it's thing, if no one comes they will always bring it deep into enemy territory

More often than not no one will come and you see them drop it for some sorry sod to try and run it back and that's when we pounce and take it

I've seen scroll runners stop at a keep or outpost to siege it, which I didn't understand. Is that to get buffs for capturing it?

But afterwards they always run the scroll back to either its home temple or (if it's another alliance's scroll) a keep where they can stow it.

    its part of the troll

when a ball group has a scroll, they are purely using it as bait since everyone can see the scroll from the map

so they will put additional bait by attacking a keep too, and everyone who shows up likely will die and feed their capture tick
