Suggestion for a non-magic recall animation

With the arrival of the new Unfeathered crates, I couldn't help but notice the Legionnaire's Recall.

I can sort of see why some people might like it. To give ZOS credit, it IS different and clearly has more effort put into it than just a recolor of the base animation.

But to me, it's still absurdly flashy and over the top. It's very expensive (400 gems), and imo costs way more than it's worth. It's also fairly niche. How many people have a character where such a specific recall like that would fit? I don't think it'd be the majority.

Anyway, Tamriel is definitely a magical place full of mages and wizards. But there are arguably a lot more non-magical people. Warriors, farmers, mercenaries, average people, etc. I think there should be a non-magic recall for characters along those lines.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy. I think something simple like having your character mount a horse, and then the horse rears up and neighs, or whatever, would be good enough.

What do you think?

I do agree though the new necromancy one is too much. I just wanted a simple yellow one for my Templars.

1. You stick out your thumb like a hitch-hiker and a wizard appears that then teleports you (it could be the time guy from recent quests), or a carriage appears and you get in, or some other situation occurs that takes you to your destination..
2. You dig a hole downward. The animation ends once you are completely buried. You get an additional animation at your destination where you burst out of the ground and land on your feet.
3. You begin flexing and showing off your muscles, before squatting down and jumping straight up into the air which completes the animation. You get an additional animation at your destination where you fall onto screen and land in a superhero landing... Or flat on your face, whichever.

there's lots that could be done both silly and not silly as well. Like drawing a line with your hand and a portal opens which you enter. Or a big bird swoops down and grabs you, flying off with you. Idk. It could just be more stuff. They could make it a bit sillier, there's a lot of silly stuff in the elder scrolls series and I think ESO is taking itself too seriously sometimes.

even in games where you have classes who don't have a "magic" resource (mana, magicka, etc) those classes have ways of teleporting, or being teleported. Most bethesda games just have quick travel so you don't have to think about it, this game has teleport.

Admittedly I only got it for the niche visual appeal.
I have the other one that's red-colored, and it made sense to use that since all my characters are vampires.
But I agree with some of the posts here. It would be nice to have a color palette choice.
Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, Black (like Hermaeus mora's ink), etc...

People love choices, and are willing to pay for them as long as they're not exorbitant.

Just like the Lich Throne.
Love the flames. Wish they had different colors.

An airship flies over and pulls you up to it with a tractor beam. Alternatively, it releases a rope which you climb.
A door appears, you open it and are sucked in.
You read a scroll of Icarus flight, leap high into the air and disappear.
A gryphon lands next to you, you climb upon it and fly away right before it cuts to loading screen.
Skeletons crawl out of the earth, grab your legs and pull you underground, like in vDSA.
You drink something from a bottle and disintegrate.

Can I just get a normal portl that all the mage npcs in game use? You know, the one where they open this pinkish-violet oval of light and step into it? I want that one.

Can do other animals too. There's a lot of crow animations.

Just a color change isn't worth the cost.

There may be more non magically inclined people in some societies in Tamriel but everyone reaps the benefits of Mage craft. Anyone can walk into a Mages Guild and purchase teleportation scrolls. It's common and normal in this setting.

Maybe there could be one where you do a little companion wave and a mage appears from out of a portal and you step through it or maybe one where you wave your arms about and a cliff racer swoops down and carries you off!

Or for a warrior, one where you thrust your mighty sword into the air and a beam of light carries you off into the heavens!

For a drunk or Nord, you could do an animation that shows you downing a bottle of mead and the screen blacks out (you phase out) and you wake up at your destination?

There's so many alternatives to what we have to be fair. The more the merrier I always say!

The character draws the outline of a vertical rectangle with their hands. A door materializes, which they then open and step through. Upon closing, the door vanishes.

For a non-magical teleport suggestion... What about a traveling cart that your character climbs in similar to the Skyrim carts? Not flashy at all and a great call back to earlier games.

They really need to stop relying on particle effects, flashy obnoxious to the eyes flummery, to show premiumness of a thing. Lots of mementos are much more creatives than their attempts.

For Wood elves (who never get much!)...

A tree grows suddenly from the ground and you open a door in its trunk, walk through and teleport. On receiving side: you fall from the sky or burst from the ground in a swirling shower of leaves.

I already posted this to other thread but when werewolf pounce animation was bugged years ago they disappeared in ground with a splash of dirt and popped out at target. Simple, quick and funny. (And not migraine inducing flashy.)

In Tamriel, there are no "non-magical people". All people have at least a small magicka pool, even warriors, farmers, and street urchins. Basic spells are available to everyone.

Now, that often won't be enough to use flashy long-distance teleport spells. Or even cast any slightly advanced spell with a reasonable chance of success. So the point still stands. I just wanted to nerd.
