Achanist skills I want to like, but don't

After tinkering with my archanist healer for a week or so, here are my general thoughts on the class:
Glyphic ultimate: this looks so cool. I want to love it, I want it to be a class ultimate on a support that actually gets USED. However, that's not what this is. 200 weapon and spell damage, after an unknown amount of healing or damage done? Potatoes. Warhorn is better, no contest. Yes, even with major protection on the healing morph.
Suggested change: 200 weapon/spell damage on CAST, charges up to 500 based on healing/damage done and for heaven's sake tell us how much of either it takes to get it to full.

Runemend: eh. As a single target heal its not terrible, just feels weird and slow. Again, cool look, never use it.
Suggested change: make it stronger? Idk.
Cascading remedy, either morph: I was excited for this, but it's actually meh. Feels weak and slow. Frustrating to aim
Suggested change: make the heal stronger, and maybe front load it a bit so the first tick does more healing, and have it tic every .5 seconds
The gate: What even is this. It's only fun for goofing around overland.
Suggested change: let us climb the dang mountains with it, or put it on some stairs, and extend the range.

    Shows how much I (don't) use LOL, I assumed it ticked every second because of how dang slow it feels. Just straight needs a healing buff then

    The more people it heals, the less healing the individual people get so it's strongest as a single target heal, but we already have runemend for that? Idk. I want to like it, but I'm struggling to.

    That's not true though... the healing doesn't go down if you heal multiple targets.

    I tested it, and the more people stood in the beam the less healing they received individually, but the total amount stayed roughly the same. I didn't test it extensively, but that's how it was behaving and it's consistent with the wording of the skill.

    Maybe I need to test it more scientifically

    I've been using it in BGs since the class dropped, it does not function that way I can assure you.

    What I do to charge the ult is to pop it down and immediately use healbeam to charge it up. I don't have overheal on so if I miss the small explosion of "I'm charged!" I can tell by the lack of healing on it. I think it'd work well stacked with warhorn, like in an execute scenario. I find the healbeam to be situationally better or worse than combat prayer. Originally, I replaced combat prayer with it and used combat prayer as a buff but I found that it doesn't work well as a single-target burst, unlike what you described. I use it as a sustain buff when I can and it seems to work well for vSE HM for tombs and shrapnel, however which morph is useful seems to be highly dependent on circumstance. I've been using the one that gets stronger the longer you channel it since I'm mostly doing vSE prog and BGs (for vSE prog... lol). It does work pretty darn well in BGs with the strength it has... if you're not bashed. I do find that the rotation is a bit complicated with having to be a normal healer and also deal with crux and also deal with healbeam... I frequently wish I had radiating regen yet fear that I won't have time to use it as I'm busy spamming chakram in the same way I would spam radiating.

    the class would be nicer if the heals didn't target pets

    why should pets get heals and chakram shields when the game specifically ignores them in many situations

    Agree with some of these. As for the gate ability change you suggested… no. Just no. LoL. They had stuff like this before and people abused it in PvP. People would use chains to people enemy friends over keep walls or bypass the temple gates. They’d also use gap closers to get into keeps or dragon leap. While some of it was fun and okay, others were just bad.

    The gate works pretty good once people toy with it. It’s a good kiting skill, also if it’s active you can use damage or heal beams thru it. Can also dodge roll thru it… it’s fun. Only downside is the Arcanist sustain issues means it isn’t worth a bar slot for me.
