Why so much green for Arcanists ?

I know it's based on Apocrypha from ES 5, which had a lot of green in it, but why weren't any other colours used ? A bit of colour variety would have been nice. As for the skills, well the laser beam just reminds me so much of the BFG9000! :)

Green, purple, and black. Those were the remaining colors that other classes were not using.

IMO, it would look dumb mixing in odd colors with the neon green. I personally like the green theme, Green Lantern is one of my favorite DC characters, perhaps for that reason.

Although, mixing in some purple and black could have been a cool addition. Perhaps the next class, if they can find resources with the outdated game engine to create one, might consist of black and purple.

Why are nightblades red? Sorcerers violet? Necromancers blue? All the classes have a color. There's no real reason besides aesthetic. Apocrypha is green, so Arcanists are green

Why so much gold from Templar, why so much blue from Wardens, Why so much blue-green from Necro? It’s an artistic decision meant to give the illusion of class identity and nothing more.

I'm just saying it's very simplistic, with too much emphasis on 1 colour, but I can see I'm holding a minority opinion here. It's like someone declared June St. Patrick's Month! :)

I don't remember that from WoW. Perhaps it was after I left? Or perhaps I only played (as I do now) "goody two shoes" characters.....

Basically it's demonology, as in magic of the Burning Legion. At least it used to be that way.

Went to Alik'r dolmens today and the only colour I could see was green. Everywhere. My templars colours were totally overwhelmed. I was extremely jealous of the triangles floating around too. I feel the need to wear Ebon Armour to get some globes floating around me.

It has existed since the start. It's the bright green corruptive magic used by demons, warlocks and the like. Felwood was corrupted with it, used by the blood elves to stop Silvermoon from crumbling into pieces etc. It's probably impossible to play WoW without ever coming across it.

The fel magic is my favorite in wow too.

Demon hunters have green laser eyes that incinerate allergies in front of them. They are elves infused with high amounts of fel energy and their spells are enhanced with it.
The fel corruption is the reason why orcs are bold greenish colors in warcraft.

Fel is also known as chaos magic.

So Tamriel beings somehow got a hold of fel magic and then they call themselves arcanist.. how the heck did fel get into Tamriel?

After the defeat of the Legion on Argus, the surviving members created a Dark Portal thingy in secret of course and travelled through to some other place. That place was Tamriel. But because they were so few of them, they had to pass their power on to puny mortals. Or I dunno, maybe they read about it in one of Mora's books. Forbidden knowledge and all that. You never know.

The color palette for Arcanist is pretty much the same as Demon Hunters from WoW :

      Main color : green
      Secondary colors : black/purple

      I’m personally fine with it.

To be honest I don't get the point there too. This color was new implemented in ESO, this kind of magic (color) was never really seen before in Elderscrolls Games.

In my point of view it totally does not fit into the game. I mean it is fine to create new things and develop the game further, but this is like a break out of the overall concept design of Elderscroll Games.
Here it is often compared with WoW, but remember WoW had this kind of spells since the first ERA on Warlocks. Green Hellfire and spells were combined with the Lore of "Fel Magic"...

In ESO it comes out of nowhere now with the appearence of Moras Realm. Moras was there long before I can understand he is "green color based" but not in this light green/neon colors.. It's much too fancy and outpopping in the overworld.. so I would lower the brightness and gamma of all those Arcanist spells.

ZOS had alot of possibilities for new spell tables. Also Elderscrolls games had the Illusionist spells and stuff which would be in a Dark Blue, Dark purple style. It would have fit much better into the games enviroment.

But still... The neon light Green it's an individual thing. Some people like popping out, for me it is just breaking the Games atmosphere.

Quite a few spells have a neon green hue in Skyrim. Neon green isn't unique to the Arcanist by any means.

I like the look and effects but the ground effects in particular are too... gaudy? The arcanist's domain is what really jumps to mind. The outer ring is too vivid and distracting, I think.
