Easy fix/ easy big win. Why not do it?

Please. PLEASE for the love of god give console players an option in the settings to toggle On/off being able to see lorebooks on our map and minimap. I’ve mentioned this before and I still can’t believe this is not a thing.

This would be a super light lift for the devs to turn on as well. I can’t understand why this hasn’t happened yet.

The most obvious reason it isn't a thing is that they probably want players to actually explore and find the books rather than ticking off markers on their map. Like, some of the book seem to be intentionally hidden in spots, and it would kind of defeat the purpose if they were visible on the map.

As much as PC players dote on add-ons, the console version of the game is truly the game as the devs intend it to be played.

And it is the way some of us PC players play it too! Not all PC players use add-ons, and not all those who do so use them for that sort of hand-holding.

It's not a priority to add many quality of life features to console. Especially ones that can't be monetized. They add some features but for many, it's just not worth their time over other work to be done. That's how the business goes.

I would phrase it as "console version of the game is the minimum experience the devs intend ESO to be played".

Not really, the devs supported addons from the start:

The devs and ESO supported addons since launch so addons is an intended way ofplayeing ESO. One could argue that since the console version launched later that the paired down experience was solely due to console manufacturer patch certification procedures. It wouldn’t be the first time that consoles got the short end of the stick with multi platform games. I suspect ESO “could” make something like the “creators club” in Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE that supported community addons for the most popular PC addons but since ZoS likely wouldn’t charge for that I suspect there’s little will to do so on ZoS’ part.
