I've been having issues with the cursor mode since yesterday's patch, but
this earlier thread (already closed, hence the new one) notes them occurring even before that, so I'm not sure if they are entirely new or not. I play on PC-EU.
Either way, as of yesterday, when I hit Enter to open chat, the game does not reliably go into cursor mode as it has before, and instead the camera keeps moving, and the mouse cursor remains unmoving, while chat is open. The separate keybind for the cursor mode still works, but it's not a workable solution: as it stands, I press Enter to open chat, but if I want to move my mouse on top of the chat to scroll or switch channels, I will have to press another key to enter cursor mode, which I think is one keystroke too many for a single action.
Cursor mode works when menus are open, but some addons suffer from this issue because their overlays do not activate cursor mode, making it difficult to interact with them (same as with chat, described above).
I also reported this in-game last night but thought to open a thread here to see if anyone else has the issue, or knows of a workaround. Assuming this is an issue in the game and not, say, in my hardware, I dearly hope it gets looked into and fixed. Besides generally messing with my in-game sense of direction with the camera suddenly moving when I expect it to be still, this issue is making it a lot more difficult to use the in-game chat. I can't imagine how I would now e.g. reply to a whisper mid-dungeon, or nimbly switch between different guild/group chats and stay on top of conversations at a busy hour. I realise there are keys for most of these actions, but being able to use the mouse with the chatbox is pretty important as well.
