[PC NA - v9.0.6] Arcanist "Runeblades" Crux Generation

If you use the Arcanist's Runeblades skill to START a fight, i.e. the first cast, it will not generate a crux. So you end up needing to re-cast it 4 different times instead of the assumed 3 to reach max crux. On the other hand, skills like Runic Jolt will always generate a crux if used to engage a fight. It essentially causes a small gap in your crux generation unless you switch up your rotation somehow, ensuring that you are in combat before casting Runeblades.

Here's a video I took earlier showcasing this inconsistency:

It's a small thing, but it is kinda annoying. And I've seen more than a few people mention this issue since release, but never got any official comment from ZOS. I had hoped the patch would've addressed this, but unfortunately it didnt. So is this an oversight with Runeblades? Or actually intended behavior? @ZOS_GinaBruno

I just found your post searching this exact issue up on Google.

I can confirm it is still happening, at least on PS/NA.

Starting a fight with a LA and then using blades generates crux, but yeah, opening with blades does not. Runic jolt does every time, without fail. I'm about to unlock flail, so I'm not sure if it's generating like it's supposed to or not.

Also, Runemend only generates crux if you are in combat. It doesn't work with things like fall damage.

Yeah, recent patches and PTS still have not addressed this. Glad I'm not the only one pointing this out. Would be helpful if maybe ZOS would make a comment on this. It's clearly an oversight since the other crux generating damage skills like Ceph's Flail and Runic Jolt don't have this issue, but Runeblades does.

I'm guessing this happens because Runeblades has a travel time before it actually hits the enemy and tags you as in combat. Which has the unfortunate side effect of not giving you a crux since you have to be in combat first to generate one.

    Any insight please? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin
