Buff proc monster helms

So Ive been noticing that I can't seem to get Zaan to proc. Valkyn Skoria procs very rarely, but never in Battlegrounds.
I tried to test Zaan on a random monster. I had major savagery on and was spamming light attacks trying to get it to proc but it wouldn't do it no matter how many crits I had.

These sets are very unreliable. It's no wonder mythics + training set piece have been replacing monster helm sets.

I agree! There are a lot of monster sets that could use a buff. At least from a PvP perspective. Other than DKs running Bloodspawn, the occasional somebody wearing maarselok, and everybody else wearing balorgs, I think they're all pretty much junk drawered.

In regards specifically to Valkyn Skoria... I remember back when they first changed all proc sets to fire on conditions and have cooldowns. A lot of them used to be % chance. Now very few are. And I'm not sure why some still are.

Even in PvE most monster sets are quite bad and not worth using.

Well what the **** am I supposed to use now?
    Such a disappointment.

Zaan will be unreliable because the proc chance is a % of a %. It has a chance to proc on critical light attacks, so if you have a 30% crit chance, you're only going to proc it on 10% of light attacks on average.

Yeah, this has become the depressing trend of ESO. To make mythics better than the monsters helms. Maybe one day they will make a mythic that will buff the damage of monster sets

Mythics are better than monster sets a lot of the time. I feel like the real culprit is some over performing arena weapons though. Because honestly you can fit a mythic and a monster set on the same build.

Remember when people ran 22-26k health in PvP and using Grothdarr or Valkyn would actually make a dent in it?

    Pepperidge farm remembers.

The arena weapons have been a weird mix. They completely destroyed the VMA inferno, only to replace it with the VMA 2H. I can't remember the last time I saw a VMA bow being used in a trial. Then they keep playing musical chairs with the BRP weapons. At least they finally gave some relevance to the Masters set again.

But I have no problem with arena weapons being strong weapons. The monsters sets were strong because the theory was you had to be a good player to get something like Zaan or Velidreth when those sets were at the top, just like the perfected arena weapons. Now, you only have to have incredible patience with awful RNG to get leads for a mythic like Oakensoul or the Kilt. I am stuck in the middle of wanting more players to run raids, but would really like it if those players were good at running raids instead of just having the right gear.

I think the healer monster helms are still useful for the most part, but the DPS helms are definitely outperformed by mythics now. Kilt, Death Dealer's fete, and I'm going to guess the Velothi Ur amulet for some builds all will out perform a proc chance monster helm.

Pleeeeease! Neirineth needs to do half of it's damage up front!

I love how that VFX looks but God is it useless, PvP wise at least.

Also valkyn skoria is STILL chance based? I thought we moved away from chance procs like 3 years ago....

Nerieneth is actually one of the stronger sets currently and is passable in PvE.

If you removed the delay of the damage for PvP then you would also have to eat a significant nerf to the actual proc. I wouldn't make that trade.

No I mean have it deal half immediately and the other half after the delay, which matches up to it's visual effects well. This would be the same damage for PvE but would realistically result in it being viable but not overpowered in pvp, since the 2nd portion of damage would almost never land.
