It's the lever behind the double doors near the end. There's a lever to open the doors, which works. But the lever behind it...if another player pulls it, i imagine it advances their quest. But if you didn't pull it, your quest doesn't advance and you can't pull it because it's already been pulled

Did the player pulling it have the quest? Because I know it was advancing for everyone when none of the players have done it and were doing it. That'd be the most logical (albeit easily wrong) guess as to why...

The same thing is happening to me. I've been back there twice now to try to complete it and it won't count for my quest if someone else pulls it.

My recommendation would be to drop the quest (if you haven't already) so you can pick it up again. Then either do a solo run so you can pull all of the levers yourself, or ask the other players in your group to let you be the one to pull the levers so you can complete the quest.
If you aren't able to solo Volenfell, send me a whisper or mail in the game and I'll run it with you if I'm not crunched for time doing something else. I solo normal Volenfell fairly regularly because it was the first group dungeon I successfully soloed and I'm fond of it for sentimental reasons-- plus, I like smashing priceless Dwemer artifacts to bits. I can't promise that I'll be of much help with vet Volenfell-- I don't know that I've ever run it on vet difficulty-- but if normal is okay with you then I'm in. I'm willing to try it on vet, too; I just don't know how much help I'd be.
