Soloing Vet DLC Dungeons

Hi folks! When I'm not PvPing, I usually challenge myself by soloing dungeons. So far, I've soloed all base game dungeons on Veteran (except CoH2 cuz I can't get Precognition to work on Nerien'eth for some reason). Also, I have soloed all DLC dungeons on Normal (except ICP due to switch mechanic). My next obvious step is to start soloing DLC dungeons on Veteran. So for those of you who dabble in this kind of thing, which DLC vet dungeons do you think are the easier to start tackling first? Basically, I'm trying to rank order them from easiest to hardest from a soloing perspective.

Also, to be clear, I'm only attempting basic clears of the dungeons. I'm definitely not @PaddyVu or @luchtt . In NO way will I be attempting those crazy feats of hardmodes and trifectas, haha. Leave that stuff to the pros :-)

Thanks for your thoughts and/or experiences!

Cauldron is pretty easy amongst those dungeons you mention.

Just as a warning, on Vet, Fang Lair is really difficult to solo, and might be impossible nowadays (depending on if they've fixed the bugs allowing you to solo it). Two of the bosses have mechanics that lock a player down - one requires you to stand on a very specific crack in the ground to avoid the Skeleton Senche from pouncing you. The other requires you to use the Undo ultimate to bug out the chain/ghost mechanic (seems like you're already familiar with this idea though).

Both mechanics can be soloed (I've soloed it on Vet and even soloed HM) but be prepared to pull your hair out trying to cheese those two mechanics.

As for easy dungeons, some of the newer DLC dungeons are actually surprisingly easy to solo because of how few bosses there are (provided you won't be doing secret bosses and such). Unhallpwed Grave has an annoying fight with the Werewolf on Vet, but is otherwise a pretty smooth experience.

How did you solo fg2? That boss chains you up and you need someone to kill 1 mob.

Activate destro ulti just as that mech starts and it'll kill the mob.
Thats the way I've seen it done.

How do I solo a veteran dungeon on a glass-canon dual-weilding kahjiit templar dps?

That means a low hp but high damage dps.

You won't. Soloing dungeons requires a large amount of sustained DPS as well as a large amount of survivability. In certain dungeons, it also requires specific ultimates (like Undo) to get past mechanics that would otherwise be impossible solo.

I did it on my Sorc using Hurricane and Pale Order.

Those were the last ones I did on normal, so good to know things don't change too much on vet. If I recall, there were a few intense block mechanics in the recent dungeons, so I'm sure that will be fun, lol

So there are typically 3 different ways to deal with pinning mechanics as a solo player (at least for me). One way is to use Precognition, the Psijic Order ultimate. When timed well, it can break you free from some pins (very helpful for avoiding one-shots). But if the boss does it frequently (like FG2), you'll need to build into ultimate regen in order to have Precognition readily available. The second way is to heal through the pin mechanic, which obviously only works if the pin is temporary. You could use Pale Order and drop a ton of DoTs right before the pin. You could also run a companion healer, or you could wear gear like Leeching Plate or Bahraha's Curse to do auto damage and healing. The third way is to rely on a cheese mechanic, like the Senche boss in Fang Lair.

Pale Order would allow you to do a decent amount of solo dungeons since that mythic generates healing from damage. However, as you approach really hard content like vet DLC stuff, multiple builds/setups may be necessary depending on the encounter. For example, some of the giga-chads that are soloing trifectas and other achievements might have a different build for every single boss and/or trash packs. It's nuts but cool to think about and strategize.

Are any of you using companions? Just wondering because I all Youtube videos I see of people soloing these dungeons and they're not using any companions.

Personally, I use a companion, but there are definitely some that don't. For instance, many of the OG extreme soloists were doing their thing way before companions came out.

Whether or not people think companions are allowed for "soloing" all depends on how they define it. Some people might consider soloing to mean the player entity only, and a companion would technically violate that. Others use the term soloing to simply mean they aren't working with any other players, and they use anything available to a single player to run the dungeon.

I have a companion enabled when I solo dungeons, but I don't have Mirri fully geared or leveled so she's mostly just along for the ride.

However, I've been into soloing dungeons since long before Blackwood and companions were released.
