Apocryphal Gate is potentially most fun skill that arcanist have. But its useless for now. Let me explain my whine.
1.
Cooldown. I find that pretty fair as prevention of skill spam like sorcerers and vampires can do.
2.
Line of sight. Destination portal must be placed on ground visible from your POV. Sometimes it annoys but understandable as prevention climb on some points that is unreachable for other classes.
3.
Civilian attack. You can't use skill if some "yellow" NPC cross your reticle. I don't want accidentally get bounty so prevent stealing and attack civilians always ON. It is not attacking ability! so WHY? Why the hell it work that way?
4.
Not a wormhole. Character actually did not disappear in one portal and appear at another. Why? Your "teleportation" trigger traps. You can't bypass a rope. ROPE, KEVIN! ROPE!
5.
Walk accessibility. I can't make portal from one flat rock to another (see picture). I can see ground, it is pretty flat and there is enough space to place portal at starting and destination locations. And it keep saying "Invalid location". If I cant walk from one point to another without jumping - I cant use gate as well. What the point to restrict that? My vampire character can easily travel both ways!
I see no usability for Apocryphal Gate neither combat wise nor exploration wise. With the next skill reset, it will go to oblivion!

The outside.
